The person behind SOOBIN's impressive looks is a member of the Gen Z generation (those born between 1997-2012) - stylist Vinh Khoa.
Before taking on the role of fashion director of the SOOBIN live concert: All-rounder , Vinh Khoa attracted attention when he had the opportunity to work with Jennie (Blackpink) for the stage to launch the song Mantra on the famous show Jimmy Kimmel Live .
Fashion is an art with a strong Vietnamese breath.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter , Vinh Khoa said: “For me, building the image for SOOBIN in these two concert nights does not stop at choosing beautiful costumes. Instead, I want to aim to design a unified fashion system, in harmony with the emotional flow and performance rhythm throughout the program.”
Accordingly, Vinh Khoa and his crew prepared 20 costumes for the two shows, including inner layers and backup plans.
With a large-scale stage like this, he chose a "multi-line" approach, meaning that each costume has a suitable replacement in case of needing to be quickly adjusted due to weather, technical issues or changes in performance tempo.

The clothing system is built from the combination of many famous international and domestic brands such as Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Namilia, Mai Lam, Minh Mi, Le Long or grillz maker Bi Nguyen.
After more than 7 months of working with SOOBIN on many big and small projects, stylist Vinh Khoa said he had enough time to understand and grasp the male singer's image.
However, with a milestone music night in SOOBIN's career, Vinh Khoa still proactively proposed new visual directions, with a higher performance and theatricality than usual.
“There were some designs that were approved immediately, but there were also many heated debates between me, SOOBIN, and the department heads to find the most suitable solution,” the Gen Z stylist revealed.

One of the looks that was considered the artistic highlight of the entire concert was the performance of the song Sitting on the boat's edge . SOOBIN appeared suspended in mid-air in a unique design by designer Mai Lam.
The overall outfit is a combination of a Kim Long - Xuan Tuoi jacket, an inner layer from the "Rung Mai 2025" collection and a pair of hand-embroidered metallic fans, creating a poetic image.
In addition, the costume named Luat Anh also creates impressive visual scenes. The design of the crimson cloak was hand-crafted for 144 hours, using more than 20m of technically heat-treated leather, reminiscent of the image of futuristic armor.

In terms of material value, the Chaumet High Jewelry set - worth about 5 billion VND - is the most luxurious highlight. However, in terms of art, the costumes of artist Mai Lam and the props specially crafted for the stage possess cultural and spiritual values that cannot be converted into numbers.
Behind the scenes: From creation to operation
As Fashion Director, Vinh Khoa not only comes up with ideas, but is also responsible for designing the backstage operating process, ensuring that all costumes can be changed quickly, look beautiful, and are error-free between segments that only last a few minutes.
Vinh Khoa revealed that during the preparation process, SOOBIN always closely followed the costume selection process. The male singer gave specific suggestions on the shape or stage tone and repeatedly asked the question: "I have never worn these outfits before, if I wear them, will I still be me?".

Thanks to the clear interaction between the artist and the crew, the final costumes are not only visually pleasing, but also truly represent the spirit of SOOBIN.
To ensure the costume changes go smoothly, Vinh Khoa and his crew must coordinate closely with the stage management department, designing quick changing points that are reasonably arranged around the performance area.
Each outfit is carefully calculated from structure, material to wearing techniques such as smart layering, using hidden velcro and practicing changing clothes many times under simulated conditions.
Behind the stage, the people who directly coordinate the costume changes are members of the design team. They will help SOOBIN “transform” in just 30-60 seconds, while the stage is still operating continuously.
From breathing, to movement, to coordination, everything contributes to the smoothness and precision of every moment on stage.
“The thing that worries me most before the show is whether the system will operate as planned or not? As a fashion director, I understand that a beautiful design will be meaningless without a solid, dedicated backstage team that truly understands the spirit of the show,” he emphasized.

One of the most heart-stopping situations for the entire crew was the pair of metal fans used in the act Sitting on the Boat Side . Initially, the fans were handcrafted by skilled artisans with a 1.4mm thick iron frame and each weighed nearly 3kg.
The problem arose when SOOBIN had to “fly” in the air while the props were too heavy. From a decorative detail, the fan became a difficult problem between aesthetic factors, technique and stage expression.
Due to the tight schedule change, the entire post-production process was delayed. Artist Mai Lam and her colleagues were forced to quickly re-manufacture the entire fan from 0.5mm thin aluminum, reducing the weight to about 1kg each, and ship it to Hanoi just one day before the show.
Vinh Khoa confided: "When we looked back at the moment SOOBIN spread his fan under the stage lights, we all breathed a sigh of relief and understood that a small detail is enough to make professionals remember forever."
