The whole city of Paris had a sleepless night after PSG won the Champions League for the first time in its history. Tens of thousands of fans poured into the main streets of the capital city such as Champs-Elysees and around the Parc des Princes stadium (PSG's home ground) to celebrate the championship.

They have waited too long to see this noble title. Over the past 10 years, the Qatari owners have tirelessly invested a lot of money to build the Dream Team for PSG. However, it was only when the club started to build the foundation with young players that they reached glory.

The Paris authorities deployed 5,400 police officers but were unable to contain the “excessive excitement” of many PSG fans. These people turned the celebration into a riot as rioters smashed and burned cars, threw flares and bottles at the police. Riot police were forced to use tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd.

According to initial information, more than 550 extremists were arrested, including 491 cases in the capital Paris. Meanwhile, more than 200 people were injured, including 22 police officers. Unfortunately, according to information from the police, two people died in this riot.

Paris police confirmed that many extremists took advantage of the situation to cause trouble. A police representative said: "The rioters deliberately tried to cause trouble and confront the security forces."

Meanwhile, French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau strongly condemned the acts of violence and called for strict punishment for those causing trouble. He affirmed that these actions do not represent the spirit of noble sportsmanship and national pride.

PSG star Ousmane Dembele has called on fans to celebrate peacefully and respect the law.

French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated PSG and expressed regret over the incident that occurred during the club's celebrations.

PSG is scheduled to hold a parade from the Champs-Elysees roundabout to the Arc de Triomphe. President Emmanuel Macron will welcome the entire PSG team at 7pm on June 1 (0am on June 2, Vietnam time) at the Elysee Palace. This will be followed by a celebration party at the Parc des Princes.
