Implementing the OCOP Program, Quang Ngai province develops traditional products associated with advantages in production conditions, local cultural values, and rural tourism services.

Ly Son garlic specialty

Up to now, Quang Ngai province has a total of 271 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, of which 16 products have 4 stars, 253 products have 3 stars and 2 products are being evaluated as having the potential to reach 5 stars.

Typical products with strong local identity such as Ly Son garlic, Tra Bong cinnamon... not only build a brand but also gradually expand the consumption market, reaching further outside the province and exporting.

The program has been implemented synchronously in 13 districts, towns and cities in the area, with the participation of 160 entities, including 23 enterprises, 42 cooperatives and 95 production and business establishments and households.

At the same time, promote value chain linkage, apply advanced production processes according to standards such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP, GMP, ISO... to improve quality, ensure food hygiene and safety and expand consumption channels.

In 2025, the OCOP Program will be implemented in a focused and key direction, linking OCOP products with local cultural identity; preserving and developing traditional craft villages and industries to enhance the value of local products, create jobs and increase income for people, especially in rural, mountainous and island areas.

Strive to have 70 more products achieving OCOP from 3 - 5 stars; continue to strengthen and improve the capacity of the subjects developing, producing, processing and trading OCOP products. Strive to have 2 - 3 products evaluated and recognized as achieving OCOP 3 stars or higher from traditional craft villages/industries in the province, contributing to the preservation and development of local craft villages/industries.

Focus on supporting young entrepreneurs and ethnic minorities to participate in the OCOP Program and have OCOP products. Strengthen trade promotion activities, advertise and introduce OCOP products; actively participate in domestic fairs and scientific seminars targeting export markets.

Promote product standardization associated with the advantages and conditions of each locality, including: typical products, traditional products associated with advantages in production conditions and local cultural values.

Especially branded products, craft village products, traditional craft villages, rural tourism services. New products are formed based on the application of science and technology, the foundation of local advantages, outstanding and unique quality.
