A green 'heat escape' location, watching clouds hovering over the valley, 250km from Hanoi

Ta Xua (Bac Yen, Son La ) is a "hot escape" location that is attracting attention on social networks.

"Many people mistakenly think that Ta Xua is only most beautiful during the cloud hunting season. However, I really like Ta Xua in the summer, with green hills, green grass, and cool temperatures, from 16-24 degrees.

At night, when the weather turns cold, I can still light a fire with my friends to keep warm and sleep under a cotton blanket. During the day, after a sudden rain, clouds still appear and drift slowly over the valley," Linh, a young travel enthusiast, shared.

Linh just had a "lightning" trip from Hanoi to Ta Xua for 2 days and 1 night by motorbike to "escape the heat".

Ta Xua in early summer has cool, pleasant weather.

"In the summer, Ta Xua has few tourists, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers. Low season travel costs are very affordable, around 1.5-2 million VND/person," Linh commented.

On the first day, Linh explored the road through Ta Xua grassland, Dolphin cape, lonely tree, Thao cafe with a view of Suoi Sap 2 hydropower plant.

Ta Xua grassland impresses visitors with its majestic, wild nature and cool climate. The photos here are compared by netizens to be as beautiful as miniature Switzerland. The grassland is located in Ban Tro A, Ta Xua commune, about 12km from the commune center.

In summer, Ta Xua grassland often has beautiful sunshine, clear blue sky, and lush grass.

Linh was impressed with the small wooden hut located on the bend from the steppe going down, it looked simple but pretty.

After an afternoon of walking around, taking pictures, and breathing the fresh air, Linh returned to the commune center to check in to her homestay.

This place is quiet with cozy wooden-paneled rooms, with large glass doors to see the surrounding space. The price here is 700,000 VND/night/single room and 1,000,000-1,500,000 VND/night/double room.

In Ta Xua, visitors can wear autumn and winter clothes and cover themselves with cotton blankets when sleeping.

Ta Xua does not have many places to have fun, instead, tourists often go to cafes with beautiful spaces to sightsee, relax, and take photos.

After many trips to Ta Xua, Linh was very impressed with Thao cafe, where one can see the sea of clouds pouring into the valley after the rain.

The restaurant has a rustic space with wooden and stone stilt houses, combining the culture of the Mong people. Here, lunch is served for visitors at a cost of 150,000 VND/person, including 3 savory dishes, green vegetables, sour soup, dessert and drinks.

Linh rated the food delicious, reasonable cost and dining space "10 points".

In the afternoon, the female tourist moved to Khe Cai to sightsee. There are also lovely cafes here such as Tram May Khe Cai and Nang Tam. At 3 p.m., Linh headed back to Hanoi.

"I'm a bit sorry that I couldn't watch the sunset at Gio Peak on this trip due to bad weather and fog," Linh said.

From Hanoi, visitors can travel to Ta Xua by limousine with a ticket price of 550,000-600,000 VND/person/round trip. Choosing this means of transport, visitors will save more time because they do not need to change shuttle buses.

Coming to Ta Xua, visitors can rent a motorbike for 180,000 - 250,000 VND/day to travel to different locations.

Currently, Ta Xua has many units providing package tours. If you do not have experience traveling or driving alone, you can book a tour from a reputable unit.

According to Linh’s experience, in Ta Xua there are currently places to stay that are expensive but not commensurate with the service. Tourists should carefully consult the information. Many homestays are located on high hills, with beautiful scenery but the steep climb is quite tiring.

Special dishes that visitors can enjoy are roast duck, stir-fried buffalo with bamboo shoots, black chicken hotpot, sturgeon hotpot, fish salad...

In addition, before departure, visitors should find out weather information because Ta Xua often has rain in the summer. If it rains heavily, many roads will be slippery and unsafe.
