Building a generation of Da Nang youth with self-reliance and aspiration to contribute

The 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Da Nang City (term 2025 - 2030) is an important political event for the city's youth, demonstrating the aspirations to contribute and the will to rise up of the young generation in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. On this occasion, reporters of Da Nang Newspaper, Radio and Television had an interview with Mr. Le Cong Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union about the outstanding results in the past term as well as the goals and breakthrough directions in the new term.

*What are the outstanding achievements in the work of the Youth Union and the city's youth movement in the past term, sir?

- During the past term, the city's youth clearly demonstrated their pioneering role in all fields.

Propaganda and education work has been strongly innovated, quickly approaching modern media trends. The whole city has 12,816 Youth Union officials and 661,220 Youth Union members and youths participating in specialized studies on Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. The movements "Reading books about Uncle Ho" and "We are always with Mother" have been maintained effectively. In addition, 8,428 gratitude activities with 348,551 youths participating show that the depth of traditional education is still the foundation of the Youth Union movement.

The “Creative Youth” movement has developed strongly. Competitions such as Young Informatics, Student Scientific Research, and Innovative Startup Festival have created an environment for young people to hone their skills and develop innovative thinking. Many products related to digital transformation, smart cities, and green economy made by young people have been applied in practice.

*In the youth volunteer movement, what are the strong marks that the city's youth have made in recent times?

- The youth volunteer movement is truly a bright spot, creating a strong influence in the community. The entire Union has organized 10,056 volunteer activities, attracting more than 2.03 million union members and young people to participate, carrying out 24 city-level projects, 9,489 grassroots projects, with a total value of over 43 billion VND, clearly demonstrating the spirit of "wherever there is a need, there is youth, where there is difficulty, there is youth".

In the new rural construction, the union members renewed 87km of concrete roads, built 180 model roads, built 9 rural traffic bridges and built 44 hygienic toilets. The campaigns "Winter Volunteer", "Spring Volunteer", "Young Doctors for Community Health" all created great influence. The above results show that the spirit of volunteering has become a way for young people to demonstrate their social responsibility.

*What activities has the Youth Union accompanied young people on their journey to start a business and establish themselves, sir?

- In the context of the city's strong shift to digital economy and innovation, the Youth Union identifies accompanying young entrepreneurs as a key task.

Every year, the Union organizes over 250 training courses to transfer science, technology and business skills to young people. We maintain start-up forums and innovation festivals for young people to meet experts and connect with resources.

The City Youth Union has supported 14 typical economic models of young people. Creative spaces in schools and start-up clubs are becoming environments for young people to test ideas and develop products. From there, an innovative ecosystem of Da Nang youth is gradually being formed.

*In the new term, what goals and directions does the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the city set to continue promoting the pioneering role of youth, contributing to building a modern, peaceful and civilized Da Nang?

- With the slogan of action "Solidarity - Pioneer - Courage - Breakthrough - Development" set out for the 2025 - 2030 term, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the city continues to strive to build and consolidate a strong and sustainable Youth Union organization. At the same time, build union members and young people in the new era with revolutionary ideals, ambitions, aspirations to rise up, promote the spirit of volunteerism and creativity in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, especially in international integration and national digital transformation.
