Vietnam U19 women's team actively practices
Sharing before the afternoon training session on June 3 at Thanh Long Sports Center, Coach Okiyama Masahiko expressed his satisfaction with the progress and quality of the team's training in recent times.
“I think the players have shown a very good ability to absorb tactics. Although the training time has not been long, they have grasped the concept quickly and shown clear progress in each training session,” said the Japanese strategist.
To test and perfect the squad, the Vietnam U19 women's team played two friendly matches and won both. Coach Okiyama highly appreciated the experiences gained from these matches: "These were very useful matches. The players had the opportunity to practice their speed, strength and reflexes in real situations. Currently, the team has many promising faces, each of whom possesses their own strengths."
The U19 Southeast Asian tournament is an opportunity for young players to learn and gain experience.
However, the Japanese coach also frankly admitted: the team still has some points to improve in the final week before entering the official tournament.
“The focus in the coming days is to strengthen the cohesion in the playing style, the ability to communicate on the field as well as improve the quality of the exercises. In particular, I am very interested in the physical factor. The players must ensure the best condition to compete throughout the tournament,” he emphasized.
In addition to his professional work, Coach Okiyama Masahiko also pays careful attention to evaluating his opponents. Although he aims to win the championship, he believes that no team in the region can be underestimated.
“We respect all opponents. Myanmar and Thailand are always teams of the same level and are not easy to defeat. In addition, the host team Indonesia has serious preparation and is being led by a Japanese coach - this will bring significant challenges. We need to prepare carefully for each match,” said the head coach of the Vietnam U19 women's team.
As planned, on the evening of June 4, the Vietnam U19 women's team will continue to have an internal practice match at Thanh Long Center - an important part in the process of reviewing personnel and playing style before leaving for the tournament.
With high concentration and the desire to win nurtured in each training session, the Vietnam U19 women's team is gradually perfecting its preparations to conquer the regional arena.
The Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship is not only a measure of expertise, but also an opportunity for young players to affirm their abilities and get closer to the national team level in the future.
