Vivid 3D painting on pet fur
A puppy prancing around with a “ballet-dressed deer” on its back, or the viral image of Baby Three suddenly appearing brilliantly on a dog's pure white fur.
These works are not products of AI technology or computer graphics, but the result of the skillful hands of Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh (commonly known as Linh Kimi, born in 1992, Hanoi ).
Videos of Ms. Linh trimming and styling her pets have attracted millions of views on social media. Each product is a spectacular “transformation”, leaving viewers in awe.
“This is art!” wrote one person. “I can’t believe it’s made of real fur! It looks like the dog is wearing a shirt or a backpack,” commented another.
Talking to Dan Tri reporter , Ms. Linh said that to have vivid and unique works, she finds inspiration everywhere. With her imagination, she can come up with an idea to create a shape from just a small pattern on a shirt, a border pattern or even from a story she happens to read in a book.
Each piece can take from 2 to 6 hours to complete, and in some cases, she has to spend an entire working day to complete it.
To create a new look for her pet, Ms. Linh performs many meticulous steps. First, the pet will be bathed, dried, then brushed to untangle and smooth the surface. Next, the technician uses specialized clippers and scissors to trim and shape according to the desired design.
Sensitive areas such as the face, ears, tail... are treated especially gently to ensure the safety and comfort of the pet. Finally, coloring and styling are done. According to Ms. Linh, trimming techniques can be learned easily, however, the shaping idea depends a lot on the exploration and creativity of each person. This is what shows the prominence of the trimmer.
Ms. Linh expressed: "What makes me happiest in my job is when, after trimming and shaping a dog, customers come to pick them up and don't recognize their pets because their appearance has changed so dramatically. Their surprise and bright eyes make me feel that my job is meaningful."
The most memorable work is “Mermaid Rabbit” with a cute and adorable shape that she designed herself and guided a Peruvian student to create. “This work is not too complicated in terms of technique, but it is highly creative. When posted on social networks, the video attracted more than 10 million views. Everyone was impressed with that image,” she said.
However, behind each “work of art” is a process of understanding the psychology of pets. “To do this job, you must truly love animals. When you have feelings for them, they will trust and cooperate.
I always prioritize safety, if the baby is too stressed, I will cut in stages. For babies with special body shapes, I will use techniques to cover up defects and highlight their unique beauty, similar to the fashion design industry," she explained.

Ms. Linh revealed that the most touching memory for her did not come from an elaborate work, but from a time when she provided free care for a puppy with paralyzed hind legs. “The puppy was very obedient and cooperated little by little.
The owners came to pick her up with tears in their eyes. They said they had never seen such a beautiful baby. At that moment, I realized that this job is not just about beauty, but also about connection and love," she recounted.
The job requires passion and perseverance.
Few people expected that Nguyen Thuy Linh’s career would start with a birthday present. That year, her boyfriend (now husband) gave her a small dog. After taking her pet to the spa a few times, seeing that the cost was quite high, she came up with the idea of learning how to take care of it herself.
By chance, she came across a hairdressing course abroad, signed up for a trial class and was quickly drawn in. From then on, she pursued the profession seriously, constantly honing her skills with international experts.

After completing her international courses, Linh began to open a formal vocational training class. Before entering this profession, Linh studied Business Administration, so when she decided to change direction, her family did not support her. “I had to borrow money to open my first establishment. Difficulties piled up, but after only one year, I paid off all my debt thanks to my stable business development,” she shared.
Currently, Ms. Linh is the owner of a pet brand and trains many students. Every day, she and her students trim and shape 20-30 puppies per day with service prices depending on weight, a small dog can cost about 450,000 VND.

Although the job has good income potential, she always emphasizes that this is not an easy job but requires a lot of passion, skills and perseverance.
“This job is not a “sitting back and enjoying a golden bowl” job, it requires a lot of passion, skills and discipline. If you truly love animals and want to create beautiful things with your own hands, then boldly step in. But you have to study properly, practice hard and constantly improve yourself. When you are good and dedicated, this job will give you what you deserve,” she shared.
