The opening ceremony of “Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025” took place at 8:00 p.m. on November 7 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel with special artistic performances by nearly 1,000 actors.

“Thang Long - Hanoi Festival” is a large-scale annual cultural event organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports under the direction of the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Hanoi, with its thousand-year history, has carved out a rich “Heritage City”, where quintessential heritage values ​​contribute significantly to shaping the cultural identity of Hanoi people.

Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 takes place from November 1 to November 16, 2025 with the theme "Heritage - Connection - Era" to spread those values ​​to people across the country and international friends, contributing to promoting the cultural industry, services, tourism ...

The theme “Heritage - Connection - Era” also demonstrates the aspiration to gradually build a unique and creative Hanoi cultural brand on the foundation of traditional cultural values ​​of the nation; aiming for the position of "Capital connecting heritage" through promoting the value of cultural heritage and the position of "Creative City" of UNESCO.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Opening Ceremony of the Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 is a special and grandiose art program. The event was attended by leaders of the Central Government and Hanoi City, along with international delegates, representatives of diplomatic corps, ambassadors of several countries and several international organizations in Hanoi.

The art program has the participation of nearly 1,000 professional actors from leading units such as Thang Long Puppetry Theatre, Hanoi Cheo Theatre, along with the participation of talented artisans of Hanoi.

A special feature of the program is the performances to honor the original identity of local artisans, including reenacting a number of traditional festivals and plays such as: Traditional wrestling, Con dy danh bong dance (Thanh Liet ward), Cheo Tau singing and dancing (O Dien commune), Bai bong singing and dancing (Phu Xuyen commune), Giao Long dance (Viet Hung ward), Ai Lao dance (Phuc Loi ward), sitting tug of war (Long Bien ward)...
