130 booths participate in Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025

On the evening of June 5, in Lao Cai City, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province held the opening ceremony of the Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025, with the theme: "Lao Cai Tourism - Connecting green aspirations".

Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 delivered the opening speech.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025 said, The fair, held for the first time in the center of Lao Cai city, is a very meaningful and important tourism and cultural event of the province and the Northwest region.

At the same time, affirming the role and position of Lao Cai as an economic connection point, cultural exchange, trade cooperation center, together promoting development in the East-West economic corridor and the Northeast belt of the country and internationally.

The fair promises to open up opportunities for investors, businesses in the tourism service sector, travel agencies, destinations, etc. to find partners, sign contracts, in order to promote the increase in the number of visitors to Lao Cai in the future.

Along with that, this is a good opportunity to introduce and promote the potential, strengths, beauty of landscape, culture, country and people of Lao Cai to the people, domestic and international tourists; contributing to promoting the smokeless industry of the province and Vietnam in the process of integration and sustainable development.

“Through the organization of the Fair (especially the opinions exchanged, discussed, and contributed at the Workshop, at the survey programs, etc.), the Organizing Committee hopes to help state tourism management agencies, local and international tourism promotion organizations have a deeper, more comprehensive, and more substantial view of the development orientations of tourism products and services towards the goal of developing green and sustainable tourism,” said Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh.

In recent years, along with the development of Vietnam's tourism industry, Lao Cai - a land with many attractive tourism resources, Lao Cai's destinations such as Fansipan Legend Cable Car Tourist Area were awarded "World's Leading Cultural Tourist Area 2023" and "World's Leading Natural Landscape Tourist Area 2023; Sa Pa is in the top 50 most beautiful small towns in the world; Bac Ha Market is considered the most attractive in Southeast Asia..., many tourism products have become "brands", positioned on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.

With more than 8 million visitors and revenue of nearly 27 trillion VND in 2024, Lao Cai tourism is increasingly affirming its position as an important and spearhead economic sector, gradually creating a breakthrough in the province's economic structure.

Facing opportunities and challenges in the context of globalization, climate change and increasingly fierce destination competition, Lao Cai province is always steadfast in its orientation of developing green and sustainable tourism.

Lao Cai International Tourism Fair 2025, with the theme "Lao Cai Tourism - Connecting Green Aspirations" is a strong message, demonstrating the determination of local tourism to transform towards the goal of sustainable development.

In particular, the core values ​​include protecting natural ecosystems, minimizing human impact; minimizing waste, using clean energy and renewable resources; developing community tourism, connecting interests between the State, businesses, tourists and local people; preserving traditional culture to help tourists have authentic and meaningful experiences; expanding the connection between tourism in Lao Cai province with the Northwest region, tourist centers of the whole country and international connections.

Tourism businesses exchange information and introduce cooperation opportunities at the Fair.

The organizers said that this year's Fair will be held with 130 domestic and foreign booths.

In particular, within the framework of the Fair, there was the participation of a survey delegation (Farmtrip), including 120 major international travel agencies, representing over 10 countries and territories - the largest international tourist markets to Lao Cai such as: China, Malaysia, India, Japan, Australia, Korea, France, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia along with more than 40 domestic and international promotion and communication agencies and organizations.

“We expect that after this Fair, the image of Lao Cai tourism will be spread more widely and more beautifully in the eyes of tourists, with friendliness, modernity, creativity, integration and above all, maintaining the central position, the bridge of Northwest tourism with national and international tourism,” Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh added.
