According to Director of An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center Le Trung Hieu, in recent times, the unit has actively supported businesses in the province to connect with partners through many events and trade fairs nationwide. In particular, it has participated in many outstanding events, such as: Trade and Industry Fair, OCOP products and regional specialties of Tay Ninh province; Program "Quintessence of craft villages and regional specialties" in Ho Chi Minh City; Conference connecting supply and demand between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities... helping the business community and OCOP product owners of An Giang meet and share cooperation opportunities with other businesses.
“Regarding events in the province, the most prominent is the Tinh Bien - An Giang International Trade Fair in 2025, with a scale of more than 330 booths from 15 provinces and cities, such as: Cao Bang, Hoa Binh, Dak Nong, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City... Besides, there are also booths of enterprises from Kandal province, Takeo (Kingdom of Cambodia) and Thai enterprises. This is a large-scale event, a tradition of An Giang over the past 17 years, becoming a "boost" for border trade, helping enterprises in the province connect with many potential partners" - Mr. Le Trung Hieu said.
An Giang enterprises signed a memorandum of understanding with partners
In particular, within the framework of the fair, the An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade and the An Giang Business Association to organize a conference to connect businesses participating in the event. This is a necessary step, helping businesses proactively introduce products and seek partners to expand their consumption channels. “At the conference, we created conditions for An Giang businesses to talk about their products, suggesting the need for cooperation with other businesses in provinces and cities. Through the event, businesses signed many memorandums of understanding on product consumption cooperation, helping to expand the market for products in the coming time,” said Mr. Le Trung Hieu.
Coming to the conference, Mr. Ta Minh Thien (Minh Thien business household, Chau Doc city) set a goal to introduce his palm wine and palm wine products to partners outside the province. Through the conference, his products were interested by a number of businesses, connecting to introduce to customers in provinces and cities in the country. “We really need trade connection events to find potential partners. With the efforts of the business itself, it will be very difficult to find partners with enough capacity to effectively consume the product. With the support of the professional sector, we can meet reputable businesses with available markets to bring products to customers. In the past, I have supplied my products to many places, but still have not met expectations. Therefore, I hope to introduce my products at many large-scale trade connection conferences, with many businesses participating" - Mr. Thien shared.
For enterprises outside the province, accessing the An Giang market is a very special opportunity. Ms. Dang Thi Kim Ngan (representative of Bay San Enterprise, Tay Ninh Province) informed: “We specialize in producing and trading products from naturally grown mulberry. Currently, our products are only distributed in the province and some neighboring localities. Coming to An Giang, I realized that this is a potential market and have introduced the products to many partners. I hope that my products will be welcomed by An Giang customers. Conversely, I also hope to introduce An Giang products to customers in Tay Ninh Province”.
With the same goal, Mr. Dao Quoc Trung (Chơ-ro Culinary Culture Cooperative, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) affirmed: “An Giang is a potential market. Therefore, I want to connect businesses here, as well as all units participating in the Tinh Bien - An Giang International Trade Fair, to bring Cho-ro specialties to customers everywhere. Currently, the cooperative sells products such as: honey, bamboo rice, lemongrass salt of the Cho-ro people, which are popular with customers. I also plan to introduce some specialties of An Giang to customers in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in the future”.
The highlight of this year's trade connection conference is the presence of businesses from Cambodia. Although the number of products of these businesses is not really rich, they are highly natural, such as: Rice, spices, massage oils, handicraft products... which are highly appreciated by customers. Connecting trade with partners in Cambodia will help An Giang businesses access potential markets. Conversely, it is also possible to link up to consume unique products from your side. Thereby, helping to open up the market, opening up new development directions for specialty products, OCOP products of An Giang.
“We will continue to support provincial enterprises to participate in trade connection events inside and outside the province. However, enterprises need to proactively exploit the market in many forms. In particular, the development of e-commerce is an inevitable trend, helping An Giang enterprises' products reach a large number of domestic and foreign customers.
