On the evening of June 4, nearly 800 officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Military Region 7 were present at Saigon Station (HCMC) to board the train to Hanoi , participate in training, parade, and march in the grand ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
This is the team that has successfully completed the mission during the recent 30/4 holiday, now continuing to march to the North to enter a new training phase, ready to carry out mission A80. They are the Southern female guerilla groups; the female commando group and the male paratrooper special forces group.
At the station, the soldiers took the opportunity to chat with their families and record memorable moments.
Before boarding the train, Anh Thu (a female special forces officer) was moved to say goodbye to her family. In the moment of seeing her daughter off, the mother said: “My daughter, remember to stay healthy and always maintain military discipline to complete your assigned tasks. The whole family is proud of you.”
Female guerrilla fighter Trinh Hoang Khanh Van expressed her feelings to her mother before her departure. The 18-year-old girl expressed her wish that her family would be present on September 2nd to live together in the proud and sacred atmosphere of the country.
The first time she went to Hanoi to do a mission, Nguyen Thi Cam Tu (22 years old, Hoc Mon district) could not hide her emotions and burst into tears after calling her mother. “We will try to practice, overcome our own limits, and be determined to excellently complete the mission that the country and locality have entrusted to us,” Tu shared.
The soldiers' luggage includes backpacks and personal items issued by the unit for the journey. Official uniforms will be issued immediately after their arrival in Hanoi.
Soldiers line up their uniforms before the train departs. During the journey, agencies and units need to strictly manage the number of soldiers, ensure food and hygiene, and ensure food safety. In addition, the reception organization at stations and road transfer locations is required to be thoughtful, safe, and on time.
The female commando officers beamed before the 36-hour journey. This was the second time they were chosen to carry out the sacred mission, a rare experience in military life.
Soldiers take photos through the train window before departure.
It is expected that on June 6, the groups will arrive in Hanoi and continue training for the ceremony. According to the plan, the group will train at the National Military Training Center 4 and the Army Officer School 1, before officially parading at Ba Dinh Square on the occasion of National Day, September 2.
