Hanoi opens event to introduce OCOP products associated with the culture of the Central and Central Highlands provinces

The event took place over 5 days (from June 4 to 8) with more than 100 booths selling about 1,000 craft village products, safe agricultural and food products, OCOP products from different regions and an exhibition area for experiencing craft village tourism from districts, towns and cities in Hanoi and provinces and cities across the country, especially the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Dinh Hoa said that from 2019 to now, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 3,317 OCOP products (accounting for 21.3% of the country), including 6 5-star products, 22 potential 5-star products, 1,571 4-star products, 1,718 3-star products and is the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of OCOP products.

For the sustainable development of OCOP products, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment proposes that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and central ministries and branches support the evaluation and classification of Hanoi's 5-star OCOP products in line with local advantages and conditions; pay attention to supporting trade promotion, connecting supply and demand for Hanoi's OCOP products through fairs, promoting and introducing products domestically and internationally.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment requested that departments, branches and localities of Hanoi promote and support participants in the OCOP Program so that OCOP products can increasingly spread in rural areas; promote production organization towards value chain linkage, build stable raw material areas for production development.

The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment hopes to continue receiving the attention and direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Hanoi People's Committee, the coordination of local departments and branches in the city, and the coordination and connection between Hanoi and provinces and cities across the country to effectively promote and introduce OCOP products, agricultural products, food, and craft village products.
