VN-Index increased by more than 12 points, foreign investors net bought after the upgrade news

On October 8, the VN-Index increased by more than 12 points after news that the Vietnamese stock market was upgraded.

In the morning session, right at the beginning of the trading hour, the market made a leap forward on positive news, pushing the VN-Index above the 1,730-point mark. However, after reaching the peak, selling pressure increased, causing the market's upward momentum to slow down and gradually narrow.

At the end of morning trading, VN-Index temporarily stopped at 1,683.67 points, up 1.63 points.

In the afternoon session, the market performed more positively thanks to improved demand, helping the VN-Index increase again. Closing, the VN-Index increased by 12.53 points (0.4%), to 1,697.83 points. The VN30-Index stopped at 1,922.95 points after increasing by 13.3 points (0.7%).

The entire floor recorded 181 codes increasing in price and 121 codes decreasing in price. In the VN30 basket, the number of codes increasing and decreasing in price was 19 codes and 7 codes respectively.

Stocks are significantly differentiated, especially in the large-cap group. In the real estate group, VHM contributed the most points to the VN-Index with 4.32 points while VIC took away the most points with 1.68 points. In the banking group, VCB, CTG, STB,ACB were among the most positive contributors; in contrast, TCB, LPB, BID, VIB were among the group with negative impacts.

Most industry groups increased but the amplitude was not large. The essential aviation trade group increased by 2.1%, insurance increased by 1.24%, the rest all increased by less than 1%.

On the other hand, the groups of vehicles and components, utilities, essential goods trade, software and services, hardware and equipment ended the session in red.

Market liquidity reached over VND33,000 billion. The bright spot was that foreign investors returned to net buying with a purchase value of nearly VND4,434 billion and a sale value of approximately VND4,200 billion.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, at the end of the session, the HNX-Index reached 273.34 points, up 0.47 points (0.17%); the HNX30-Index increased 2.44 points (0.42%) to 588.01 points. The total transaction value reached more than VND 2,600 billion.
