Opening of the 2025 International Beach Volleyball Tournament in Nha Trang

On the afternoon of June 5, the Nha Trang International Men's and Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament - Sanest, Sanvinest Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Cup 2025 opened at the beach in Phu Dong Park area (Nha Trang city).

This is the first international sporting event organized by Khanh Hoa province within the framework of the 2025 Sea Culture and Tourism Festival.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Thieu emphasized that beach volleyball is not only a vibrant and attractive sport but also a bridge for cultural exchange, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity between countries. The tournament is an opportunity to promote the natural beauty, people and sea and island tourism potential of Khanh Hoa to international friends. The province hopes to build this tournament into an annual sea sports event with its own brand of Nha Trang.

Taking place from June 5 to 9, this year's tournament brings together 32 men's and women's teams from 6 countries: Vietnam, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. The athletes are all national players or have participated in prestigious international tournaments. The matches are played in a group format, with a single-elimination format.

According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament contributes to realizing the goal of turning Khanh Hoa into a national center for tourism, services, and marine sports; effectively responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" in the period of 2021 - 2030.

On the very first day of competition, the atmosphere on Nha Trang beach was bustling with dramatic opening matches. The Vietnamese women's team showed good form, taking advantage of home field advantage to win convincingly against their opponents from Singapore with a score of 2-0. On the evening of June 5, the match between the Vietnamese and Thai women's teams especially attracted the attention of the audience with many fierce tug-of-wars, demonstrating the high level of expertise of both teams.

With a total prize value of up to 607 million VND, the tournament is not only a sea sports festival but also an opportunity to promote cultural exchange, expand international cooperation in the field of sports; contributing to creating a highlight for the vibrant summer tourism season in Khanh Hoa.
