The communal house was built by the locals with local wood. Inside the main hall, there is an altar dedicated to the “Thanh Hoang Bon Canh”. This is the spiritual support for the local community in the process of exploration, reclamation, and survival struggle for hundreds of years.

After the worship period, the local elders and the village officials of Tan Nghia village asked the Nguyen Dynasty to confer a royal decree on the communal house. On November 29, 1852, King Tu Duc conferred a royal decree on Tan Nghia communal house.

The communal house has been repeatedly destroyed by war and degraded over time and has been renovated twice. In 2013, the communal house management board mobilized benefactors to build, expand and renovate many construction items on an area of about 2,800 m2. Every year, the Ky Yen Festival at Tan Nghia communal house is solemnly held on the 10th and 11th of the 5th lunar month. In 2020, Tan Nghia communal house was recognized as a provincial relic by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province.

At the same time, they pray for national prosperity and peace, favorable weather, prosperity, happiness, and favorable business.”
Every year the festival attracts many people to come and offer incense to show their respect.
