Phu Yen - Dak Lak: Connecting "blue sea and great forest" tourism for sustainable development

On June 4, in Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak), Dak Lak Tourism Association and Phu Yen Tourism Association jointly organized a conference on cooperation and development of tourism between Phu Yen and Dak Lak with the theme "Connecting blue sea tourism with the great forest for sustainable development".

Delegates attending the conference affirmed that both Dak Lak and Phu Yen localities have great potential for tourism development, especially green tourism.

Phu Yen has a 189 km long coastline, many unique beaches, coves, bays, and rocky cliffs, symbolized by the special national monument of Ganh Da Dia; along with many long-standing cultural and historical relics.

Meanwhile, Dak Lak with its vast coffee gardens, majestic waterfalls, forest ecosystems and the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space, is recognized as an oral masterpiece and a unique intangible cultural heritage of humanity. More importantly, Phu Yen and Dak Lak will soon merge, so the connection to develop the strong resources of "sea - forest" tourism is more urgent than ever.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and contributing many practical ideas on connecting and promoting the strengths of each region to create diverse and unique tourism products to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists to Dak Lak - Phu Yen.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu emphasized that the construction of the tour "From the blue sea to the great forest" connecting Phu Yen - Dak Lak along with the coordination between travel agencies, accommodation services, transportation, communication... will create a very good product for the new Dak Lak province.

In the coming time, the tourism associations of the two localities need to soon develop a merger project, and at the same time continue to develop the association's action program in the new context, expand member connections, unite and cooperate to build tourism products combining "sea - forest", attract domestic and provincial visitors, continue to promote, advertise and attract foreign visitors.

On this occasion, Phu Yen Tourism Association also conducted a survey of tourism products and destinations in Dak Lak to build tourism products connecting “blue sea with the great forest”. The standing committees of the two provinces’ associations also held a meeting to discuss and develop a merger project as soon as possible.
