"The Quintessence of the Vietnamese Revolution": Paying tribute to the person who ignited revolutionary ideology through his pen

On the afternoon of June 5, in Hanoi, the book “The Quintessence of Vietnamese Revolution” by veteran journalist Ha Dang was officially launched. The event was organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the National Political Publishing House Truth, the Communist Magazine and the Vietnam Journalists Association, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2025).

The crystallization of nearly 80 years of journalism and dedication to the Party's ideological and theoretical work, the book "Quintessence of the Vietnamese Revolution" is nearly 800 pages thick, including 112 typical articles by journalist Ha Dang - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Committee (now the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee), former Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, former Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine.

The book is a collection of political articles, reports, essays, and comments by journalist Ha Dang, reflecting many major topics of the country through three parts: Part I focuses on political articles on the Party and State's guidelines and policies; Part II is a unique portrait of President Ho Chi Minh and revolutionary leaders through the perspective of those who fought side by side with them during many historical moments; Part III reflects achievements in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and at the same time reflects thoughts on journalism, the role and mission of revolutionary journalism.

The book "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Revolution" consists of 112 articles, nearly 800 pages thick.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association - affirmed that the book is the crystallization of the concerns, thoughts and aspirations of an intellectual - soldier, journalist - political activist throughout his life devoted to the revolution. The solid arguments and dialectical spirit of journalist Ha Dang are a valuable source of information for propaganda, journalism and political education cadres.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, emphasized that the process of editing and publishing the book is a key task, closely coordinated by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the National Political Publishing House, carefully and meticulously carried out, ensuring high content, political value and modern, scientific presentation. The book is a valuable document for cadres, party members, journalists and readers nationwide in studying and researching theory, practice and revolutionary traditions.

On the occasion of the book launch, journalist Ha Dang and the Organizing Committee solemnly presented hundreds of copies of the book "Quintessence of Vietnamese Revolution" to a number of typical agencies and units in the fields of journalism, propaganda and theoretical research, such as: National Library of Vietnam, Hanoi Library, Academy of Journalism and Communication, Vietnam Press Museum...

This is a gift with profound humanistic and educational significance. Not only does it contribute to enriching valuable academic resources, the book is also an encouragement for those pursuing the path of theory and ideology – especially the young generation of journalists – in maintaining the passion for the profession, professional courage and journalism ethics in the era of digital transformation and deep integration.

With nearly 80 years of writing (journalist Ha Dang started working in journalism in 1947), journalist Ha Dang has left behind a huge journalistic legacy.

The launch of Vietnam's Revolutionary Quintessence on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) is a meaningful cultural event, and also a reminder of the tradition of revolutionary journalism: always closely linked to the fate of the nation, to the revolutionary cause of the Party, and to the people's lives./.
