The large construction site creates the shape of a seaport at the foot of Hai Van Pass

The Lien Chieu Port project commenced on December 14, 2022, with a total planned area of 1,285 hectares. The port is located at the foot of the Hai Van Pass, in Hoa Hiep Bac ward (Lien Chieu district, Da Nang ). Its southern boundary is adjacent to the Cu De River estuary, and its eastern boundary is adjacent to Da Nang Bay.

According to the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects Management Board, the shared infrastructure portion of the Lien Chieu port project has reached 85.6% of the contract value.

According to the published plans, Lien Chieu port will include 8 container berths capable of receiving vessels of 30,000-200,000 DWT, 6 general cargo berths capable of receiving vessels of 30,000-100,000 DWT, and a berth for SB vessels up to 1,230m long…

The port is planned to alleviate congestion at the existing Tien Sa port, reduce pressure on road traffic through Da Nang's inner city, enhance regional and inter-regional connectivity, and contribute to the sustainable socio -economic development of Da Nang and the region.

Thousands of cubic meters of earth and rock were dumped into the sea to shape the system of dikes and breakwaters extending from the seaward side.

Workers have been working diligently to speed up progress and complete the breakwater project at the foot of Hai Van Pass as soon as possible.

A section of breakwater has been completed in the coastal area of Hoa Hiep Bac ward.

Despite the hot weather, the workers are still striving to complete the construction projects in order to meet the city's deadlines.

Along with Lien Chieu Port, the coastal road project connecting Lien Chieu Port, with a total investment of 1,203 billion VND, is nearly 3km long and includes many bridges, overpasses, underpasses, and modern traffic junctions… and is also under construction.
