Lien Chieu Port started construction on December 14, 2022 with a total planning area of 1,285 hectares. The port is located at the foot of Hai Van Pass, in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang ). The south is planned to border the Cu De River mouth, the east is planned to border Da Nang Bay.

According to the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang, the shared infrastructure part of the Lien Chieu port project has completed 85.6% of the contract value.
According to the announced plans, Lien Chieu port includes 8 container berths to receive ships of 30,000-200,000 DWT, 6 general berths to receive ships of 30,000-100,000 DWT, a berth for SB ships of 1,230m long...
The port is planned to reduce the load on the existing Tien Sa port, reduce pressure on road traffic passing through Da Nang city center, strengthen regional and inter-regional connectivity, and contribute to the sustainable socio -economic development of Da Nang and the region.
Thousands of cubic meters of earth and rock were dumped into the sea to form a system of dikes and breakwaters from afar.
Workers have been rushing to speed up progress, making efforts to complete the breakwater project at the foot of Hai Van Pass soon.
A breakwater section has been completed in the coastal area of Hoa Hiep Bac ward.
Despite the hot weather, workers still tried to complete the construction items to meet the city's schedule.
Along with Lien Chieu port, the coastal road project connecting Lien Chieu port, with a total investment of 1,203 billion VND, nearly 3km long with many bridges, overpasses, underpasses, modern traffic intersections... is also under construction.
The project started on September 8, 2023 and is expected to be completed in February 2026.
According to the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang, the project has completed 62% of the contract value.
