Cordyceps products of Bio Gold high-tech agricultural production cooperative meet 3-star OCOP standards.
A new step forward for the specialty of Nung Dong fish is that in September 2022, the product was officially recognized as a 3-star OCOP product and put on the e-commerce platform. This is an opportunity for Nung Dong fish to affirm its position in the market, increase people's income, and contribute to the socio -economic development of the locality. The cooperative is investing in expanding production, with an expected consumption of 30 tons of products/year, expanding the market to many provinces and cities across the country.
In Hien Quan commune, in order to create high-quality products to meet the health care needs of consumers, Hien Quan Irrigation Service Cooperative (formerly the Kapok Mistletoe Production Cooperative) has successfully developed the OCOP product Kapok Mistletoe herbal tea, which is highly appreciated by consumers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dinh - Director of the Cooperative said: Thanks to the application of advanced production processes, the Cooperative has produced products from Kapok Mistletoe, in which the main product is high-quality herbal tea, ensuring food hygiene and safety. Thereby, contributing to building the brand of agricultural products of Tam Nong district in particular, Phu Tho province in general, creating jobs for more than 10 local workers. Currently, the Cooperative maintains production on a medium scale, with an estimated average purchase output of 2,000 kg of fresh Kapok Mistletoe per year. After harvesting, pre-processing, chopping, drying, and packaging, the Kapok Mistletoe herbal tea product is trusted by markets inside and outside the province. The cooperative's products are mainly sold through commercial agents in Hanoi , Thai Nguyen and retail customers.
Ms. Le Thi Tang in Zone 1 is one of the households that currently owns more than 100 kapok trees with mistletoe, of which nearly 20 are being harvested. She said: Every year, her family harvests about 200 kg of dried mistletoe, bringing in an income of nearly 200 million VND. Since the kapok tree mistletoe achieved the 3-star OCOP standard, her family's products have become more and more known, and their value has increased by 20% - 30%.
In recent times, all levels, sectors and localities in Tam Nong district have focused on supporting organizations and individuals producing products participating in the OCOP Program with specific solutions such as: Orientation and consulting on upgrading and perfecting products towards quality standardization; management and supervision of quality standards; support for training, technical guidance, brand building, trade promotion, product promotion... Up to now, Tam Nong district has 16 products recognized as 3-star OCOP such as: Ninh Diep chicken eggs, Tho Van honey, Minh Quan corn wine, Tan Loan longan honey, Thai Viet Ha banana, Lam Son hill chicken, cordyceps - Solanum procumbens tea... Each product carries a story about the production process, taking advantage of local available materials, safe production processes, ensuring criteria on nutrition, medicinal properties, having the ability to develop, being well received by consumers, being a product that brings a stable source of income for production and business establishments.
After the products are recognized as meeting OCOP standards, it helps the subjects have advantages when participating in the market, increase the value of the products and create trust with consumers, qualify for supermarkets and modern distribution systems; at the same time, the revenue and selling price increase compared to before participating in the program; encourage and motivate the subjects to overcome existing limitations, continue to upgrade, improve and develop products.
The One Commune One Product program continues to contribute to creating momentum for agriculture and rural areas in Tam Nong. The value of products is constantly increasing, the income of business households, cooperatives and enterprises is improved, creating competitiveness of products in the market. In order to meet the strict requirements of the current market, propaganda and promotion of the program is focused on raising people's awareness of developing commodity production according to the value chain, with the ability to compete in the market.
