As one of the characters in episode 137, the plight of Pham Thi Hong Ni (born in 2011) has evoked much sympathy. Hong Ni is currently in 8th grade at My Thuan Secondary and High School in My Tu district, Soc Trang province. Her father abandoned her when she was still in her mother's womb, and she grew up in the loving care of her mother and maternal grandparents. In January 2025, tragedy struck when her mother passed away due to drowning. Currently, Hong Ni and her half-sister's only support is their maternal grandfather. The three of them live together in an old house temporarily built with the help of benefactors, which lacks a toilet, making it quite inconvenient.

Hurryking was moved to see the hardworking grandfather raising his grandchild.
The thin man, who sells 100 lottery tickets a day to support his two orphaned grandchildren, becomes choked with emotion when talking about his family's circumstances.

Since Hong Ni's mother passed away, Mr. Pham Nhanh (1963) – her maternal grandfather – has become the main breadwinner for the two grandchildren. Mr. Nhanh earns a living by selling lottery tickets. Because he also has to take the grandchildren to school and prepare meals, he only dares to sell 100 lottery tickets each day. He has undergone two intestinal surgeries, so his health is weak and he is frequently ill. Therefore, his income is very unstable.

Hong Ni's health is also not good. At the age of 6, she suffered from acute pancreatitis and had to be hospitalized for treatment. To this day, when the weather turns hot, Hong Ni experiences shortness of breath and occasional abdominal pain. Because her family lacks the financial means, and she is still young and frail, surgery is not yet possible; she only takes medication to manage her condition.

Hong Ni's younger sister is Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran (born in 2015), currently in 4th grade. Every day, the two sisters take care of and look after each other so that their grandfather can go to work with peace of mind. Hong Ni always carries a deep sense of guilt for not having done anything for her mother. Whenever she misses her mother, Ni sits alone, looking at her mother's photo and confiding in her.

Now, what worries her most is her grandfather's health. She dreams of becoming a doctor so she can treat him and others suffering from serious illnesses like herself. Despite facing adversity, Hong Ni always strives in her studies, achieving excellent academic results for many years in a row. Knowing her grandfather doesn't have much money, Ni often skips meals to save money for school supplies. The understanding and compassion of this orphaned girl, lacking both material and emotional support, brings many to tears.

HURRYKNG continuously encouraged Hong Ni when he heard her say she felt like a burden to her grandfather. The rapper gently encouraged her, advising Ni to change her way of thinking and look at things more positively. "You can see your grandfather as motivation to have more strength to strive harder, study better, and then take care of him," HURRYKNG said.

After observing Hong Ni's situation, singer JSOL saw her as a strong girl who, despite her poor health, always strives to move forward. The male singer offered many words of encouragement to the girl, understanding that children often struggle to accept the loss of their mother, especially when such a loss occurs so recently.

JSol kindly comforted the grandmother of Tran Ngoc Ly.
"I'm just afraid that one day… my grandmother won't be here anymore" – this statement brought tears to the eyes of everyone in the studio.

Another unfortunate case is that of Tran Ngoc Ly (born in 2008), a 10th-grade student at Phan Ngoc Hien High School in Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City. Ngoc Ly is a child who has suffered greatly, having lost both her parents. In 2015, her father fell seriously ill and passed away. His sudden death caused her mother to suffer a psychological shock, gradually falling into depression and eventually dying in 2021. Since then, Ngoc Ly and her older brother, Tran Huu Nghia (born in 2006), have lived under the care of their maternal grandmother, Huynh Thi Mai (born in 1961).

Because the family was struggling financially, Ngoc Ly's older brother, Tran Huu Nghia, had to drop out of school in the 8th grade, but to this day, Nghia still doesn't have a stable job. Nghia works freelance, doing various jobs like kitchen assistant and steel welding, but none have been long-term. He always hopes to find a stable job to help his grandmother and earn money to support his younger siblings' education.

To support her grandchildren, Mrs. Mai earns money by selling lottery tickets. Every day, she wakes up early and walks the streets of Can Tho City to sell them, earning about 100,000 dong. Mrs. Mai shared that selling lottery tickets is very hard work, so she doesn't want her grandchildren to suffer the same hardships. "For me, providing enough food for my two grandchildren is enough; I can go without. If I don't have money, I'll go without, and I wouldn't dare buy anything on credit because I know I wouldn't be able to pay. I'm just afraid that if I get sick, my grandchildren will be left alone again," Mrs. Mai said.

Despite the hardships, Mrs. Mai is very proud because Ngoc Ly is an excellent student, achieving good results for many years in a row. In particular, she is currently a member of the school's geography team and recently won third prize in the Can Tho City Geography Olympiad. These achievements motivate Mrs. Mai to work hard to earn money to support her granddaughter.

Ngoc Ly dreams of having the opportunity to study English Language in the future. Currently, her family is classified as near-poor, and the house they live in was built with the support of benefactors. Her grandmother, who takes care of the two siblings, only hopes to have enough health and resources to support Ly's education until she finishes school.

During the program, Ngoc Ly couldn't hold back her emotions and burst into tears as she shared her worries about her grandmother's health: "I want Grandma to rely on me and my older brother more, and not hide her difficulties and silently endure them alone anymore. Grandma always gives her food to me and my brother, and she only eats rice with salt. I'm afraid that one day... Grandma won't be here anymore."

MC Duong Hong Phuc couldn't hold back his emotions at the immense suffering burdened the small shoulders of these children.
Tears streamed down rapper HURRYKNG's face as he witnessed the growth and hardships faced by orphaned children.

MC Duong Hong Phuc was choked with emotion when he heard Ngoc Ly share her simple dream: to be able to gather around the family dinner table with her parents, grandmother, and older brother, something she knew would never come true.

The male MC couldn't hold back his tears at the silent sacrifice of Mrs. Mai, a woman who has toiled her whole life. She cared for her son until his death, and now continues to shoulder the responsibility of raising her grandchildren. He also shared the reason why he often cries while hosting the " Vietnamese Family Home" program – because stories of loss but overflowing with love, like that of Ngoc Ly, always move him deeply.

“Watching the show at home, I saw everyone crying. Dai Nghia and Thanh Thao couldn't hold back their tears while hosting. I couldn't help but cry too. Sometimes, when reading comments, I saw some viewers saying I was weak and cried too much. But honestly, if I couldn't handle it just watching on screen, then when I was hosting the show live, facing the children and listening to their stories, the emotions overwhelmed me even more, making it very difficult to remain calm,” MC Duong Hong Phuc shared, his voice choked with emotion.

Singer JSOL also expressed his emotion at Ms. Mai's sacrifice for her grandchildren. He felt sorry for Ngoc Ly because of her maturity and admired her determination to overcome hardship, despite lacking both material and emotional support, and to strive for a bright future. In particular, knowing that Ngoc Ly has a passion for music and enjoys playing the piano, JSOL decided to team up with HURRYKNG to give her a piano. The two guests hoped that their small gift would contribute to bringing more joy to Ngoc Ly's life.

Besides offering words of encouragement to the participants, HURRYKNG and JSOL also contributed to the challenges, helping the children win prizes from Hoa Sen Group. After the competitions, Thach Thi Thuy Quynh's family came in third, receiving 18 million VND. Pham Thi Hong Ni's family came in second, receiving 23 million VND. Tran Ngoc Ly's family came in first, completing the special challenge and winning 60 million VND.

JSOL said it had been a long time since he had had such a meaningful day, being able to accompany underprivileged children. He added: “There’s a saying I always remember when talking about the program: When you find life too difficult, watch ‘Vietnamese Family Shelter’. Thank you very much to the program for giving me and HURRYKNG a truly meaningful day .

JSOL and HURRYKNG were overjoyed when the children received valuable prizes from the program.

Rapper HURRYKNG shared that he and JSOL participated in the program with the spirit of "helping those in need," hoping that all the children would have lots of joy. Therefore, the two guests decided to donate 42 million VND from their own pockets to Thuy Quynh and 37 million VND to Hong Ni, so that the families of both children would receive 60 million VND, the same amount as the first prize. HURRYKNG and JSOL's kind gesture earned them a "shower of praise" from the audience.

In addition to co-hosting the program, MC Duong Hong Phuc donated his entire fee to the three children. The impact of the "Vietnamese Family Shelter" program touched the hearts of thousands of local viewers and philanthropists. Despite the hot weather and long distances, many people came in person to watch, share, and contribute, bringing the three families nearly 200 million VND.

Beyond emotional and financial support, practical gifts such as two electric bicycles and backpacks were personally handed over to Hong Ni and Ngoc Ly by benefactors right after the program ended.

The filming took place in a touching atmosphere; despite the scorching sun outside, hearts on stage beat in unison with love.
