On the morning of June 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that doctors and nurses from two hospitals who performed fetal catheterization for a Singaporean pregnant woman were recently awarded an unexpected certificate of merit by the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
At the award ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc sent his congratulations, recognition, praise and appreciation for the efforts, intelligence, mastery of modern techniques and professional development of doctors and nurses of Tu Du Hospital and Children's Hospital 1.

Thanks to that, the complicated fetal heart intervention for the Singaporean pregnant woman was successful. Mr. Duoc considered this a very proud medical achievement, a testament to the development of Vietnamese medicine to reach the regional and world level.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee hopes that the team of doctors, medical staff, and health workers in the city in general and the two hospitals in particular will continue to foster their capacity and intelligence, and promote the traditions of the medical sector.
At the same time, master advanced technology and techniques, conquer new heights in the medical industry; practice good medical ethics and the good qualities of Vietnamese physicians to enter a new era with Ho Chi Minh City.
Dr. Ngo Ngoc Quang Minh, Deputy Director of Children's Hospital 1, affirmed that this success is the result of a well-planned investment process and the close coordination between many departments at Children's Hospital 1 and Tu Du Hospital.
Doctor Tran Ngoc Hai, Director of Tu Du Hospital, shared that the recent intervention was the most difficult case out of the nine fetal heart intervention cases at the hospital so far, marking a major milestone in the technical expertise of the doctors and nurses of the two hospitals.

Fetal medicine in Vietnam also marks a new turning point, not only treating patients domestically but also becoming a destination for foreign patients.
Previously, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan also sent a letter of commendation to the medical staff and the leadership of Children's Hospital 1 and Tu Du Hospital, for the successful fetal intervention for the above case on May 28.
According to Minister Dao Hong Lan, fetal cardiac intervention is a new and complex technique that not only requires extensive professional knowledge and sophisticated techniques, but also places strict requirements on multidisciplinary coordination, professional ethics and courage in making life-or-death decisions for two lives.
The Minister of Health believes that this is not only a technical and professional medical achievement but also a success that touches profound human values, carried out by the hands, minds, passion and intelligence of Vietnamese doctors.
"This achievement not only brings hope to thousands of pregnant women and their families, but also opens up a new direction in diagnosing and treating complex diseases right from the fetal period," Ms. Dao Hong Lan shared in the letter of commendation.
