Internal organizational capabilities are the foundation for effective AI transformation

(Dan Tri) - Selecting, refining and applying an AI transformation framework suitable for an organization needs to be based on the context, resources, practical goals and readiness level of each organization in Vietnam.

Today, AI is no longer a story of the future but has become a core element in the development strategy of organizations.

Mr. Hoang Hung Hai, Product Director, Qualcomm Vietnam, emphasized: “AI is reshaping the way the world operates. Global organizations are rapidly integrating this technology into all practical activities.”

Mr. Hai said that currently, up to 87% of businesses in the world have deployed AI in operations and services. In 2023, there will be more than 4 billion AI-integrated devices, and by 2024-2025, it is expected to increase to 8.4 billion devices.

Need a streamlined, easy-to-understand, easy-to-apply AI transformation framework for Vietnamese businesses

AI is no longer an option but has become a strategic platform. But for Vietnamese businesses, the challenge lies in how to avoid being trapped between global models when actual conditions are very different.

Ms. Vu Thi Hanh, Solution Consultant, Viettel AI, said that although accounting for nearly 98% of the total number of enterprises in Vietnam, small and medium enterprises are facing many difficulties when applying AI: limited resources, scattered data and no specialized capacity in AI.

While large enterprises often choose AI maturity frameworks according to international standards or large consulting organizations, and learn from success stories, small and medium-sized enterprises are still struggling to find the right starting point and roadmap.

Ms. Vu Thi Hanh, AI Solution Expert, Viettel AI, shares about the roadmap for AI deployment in Vietnamese enterprises.

Viettel AI experts emphasize that smart transformation must start with digital transformation. First, businesses need to approach important areas in the digital transformation process such as: data management and storage, building data lakes/warehouses, process automation, building business software in business administration... From there, AI applications in administration, business or in vertical operations can be deployed synchronously.

To support Vietnamese businesses in gradually applying AI effectively, Ms. Vu Thi Hanh mentioned developing a streamlined AI transformation framework that is easy to understand and apply but still has full evaluation criteria suitable for Vietnamese businesses.

With six pillars and four levels, along with a set of criteria for assessing AI maturity, this proposed framework has been carefully researched, learned and inherited from frameworks around the world, while selecting and streamlining core criteria to be more suitable for Vietnamese businesses.

This transformation framework also comes with a specific action plan, guiding businesses step by step, pursuing the ultimate goal of achieving comprehensive and sustainable results.

AI maturity roadmap for government agencies

In addition to businesses, Viettel AI also builds a smart transformation roadmap for the public administration sector. According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Solution Consultant of Viettel AI, state agencies should not mechanically apply common framework models for businesses or developed markets but need a separate roadmap, suitable for the specific characteristics of the organization, operational capacity and current digital maturity stage.

From practical implementation experience in many ministries, sectors and localities, Mr. Kien introduced the AI ​​maturity model consisting of six pillars: strategy, people, data, process, technology and ethics, accompanied by five levels of development from planning, testing, stabilizing, expanding to transformation. This roadmap helps agencies clearly identify the starting point, step by step deploy AI effectively and in accordance with operational practices.

The Ho Chi Minh City digital management system is one of the effective digital transformation solutions in the public sector deployed by Viettel AI.

In fact, Viettel AI has deployed many AI transformation solutions for businesses and government organizations and brought about outstanding efficiency. For example, the Viettel IPA platform helps businesses automate processes such as document approval, data synthesis, and customer feedback. The online reporting system for the information and communications industry has completely digitized the report synthesis process, allowing "enter once - use many times", ensuring accurate and timely data.

Mr. Hoang Ngoc Duong, Deputy Director of Viettel AI, affirmed that AI is not just a technology race but a journey of transformation in thinking and operational capacity. “We understand that not every business is 100% ready. But with the right roadmap, clear goals and suitable support partners, any organization can master AI in its own way,” Mr. Duong emphasized.
