Specifically, 3 out of 7 gold medals of Ho Chi Minh City were brought home in the following events: Women's standard chess team (Nguyen Hong Anh, Nguyen My Hanh An, Ton Nu Quynh Duong, Hoang Thi Bao Tram), women's rapid chess team (Nguyen Hong Anh, Nguyen My Hanh An, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong, Nguyen Linh Dan), men's rapid chess team (Nguyen Quoc Hy, Dang Anh Minh, Nguyen Thai Son, Le Minh Hoang).
The remaining four gold medals came from the women's blitz chess team, women's super blitz chess team, men's super blitz chess team and men's Asean chess team.
On the overall ranking, right after Ho Chi Minh City is the Hanoi delegation with 2 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 4 bronze medals; the Kien Giang delegation is third with 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal; the host Can Tho is fourth with 2 gold medals, 5 bronze medals.
The tournament gathered nearly 500 players from 25 provincial, municipal, industry and chess clubs nationwide, competing in standard, rapid and blitz chess team events, in 3 categories: chess, Asean chess and Maruk chess.
The Organizing Committee determines the final ranking of each team in the event based on the total rankings of the 4 highest ranked male and 4 highest ranked female players of each unit.
This year's tournament gathered many strong players, including: Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Pham Le Thao Nguyen ( Can Tho ), Nguyen Van Huy, Tran Minh Thang (Hanoi), Nguyen Duc Hoa (Army), Pham Chuong, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong, Nguyen Thi Thanh An, Hoang Thi Bao Tram (HCMC).
The 2025 National Team Chess Tournament is also an opportunity for professionals to select outstanding athletes to participate in regional and continental tournaments in the coming time.
