
The exhibition reviewed the journey of nearly four decades of preserving and promoting the value of the special national relic of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, where the spirit of studiousness, respect for teachers and valuing talents is fostered.
Through documents, images, infographic applications and modern technology, the exhibition vividly recreates the journey from the difficult early days when the relic was at risk of serious degradation to the dramatic changes in recent times. On that journey, there have been contributions and efforts from many generations of leaders at all levels, scientists, domestic and international organizations and individuals, and staff and workers working at the relic through the ages who have joined hands to preserve, conserve and promote the values of the relic.

The exhibition is also a tribute to generations of cultural managers who have been actively protecting heritage, while clearly demonstrating the development orientation of the Center to turn the heritage space of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam into a creative cultural space of the capital Hanoi.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam Le Xuan Kieu said: “We hope that the exhibition is not only an opportunity to look back on the past but also to convey a message about the dialogue between tradition and modernity at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, between preserving and promoting heritage values in the context of the strong development of modern technology. Currently, the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam is striving to become a creative center of Hanoi, contributing to the development of the capital's cultural industry”.

At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Van Bai, Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council, highly appreciated the efforts of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam in preserving and promoting the heritage. At the same time, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Van Bai also believes that the Center will continue to promote the Van Lake area to become an attractive heritage creative space of the Capital.
“It is necessary to promote public-private cooperation to bring new vitality to Van Lake area so that the heritage can truly live in life,” Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Van Bai suggested.

At the exhibition, the public can see documents and materials about the early period of the formation of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam when there were only 8 people (in 1988) until 2025 when there were 87 people. Over the periods, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam has had many activities to restore and embellish the relic and develop the relic to become an attractive destination of the Capital.
Besides, the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic also welcomes many international diplomatic delegations when they come to Hanoi.

The exhibition "Journey from Heritage to Creative Space" takes place at the special national relic site of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam from April 25 to May 20, 2025.
