Technical opening ceremony of project DT.177

BHG - Joining the atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Ha Giang province solemnly held the Technical Opening Ceremony of the project to Upgrade and Renovate Bac Quang - Xin Man Road (DT.177) Phase I.

Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh and Provincial People's Committee Chairman Phan Huy Ngoc visited and talked with people.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Hau A Lenh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Thao Hong Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Party Building Committees; Standing Committees of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee; the XV National Assembly Delegation of Ha Giang province; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; leaders of Bac Quang, Hoang Su Phi and Xin Man districts, along with a large number of cadres and people of ethnic groups in the communes of Tan Quang, Tan Lap (Bac Quang); Nam Ty, Nam Dich (Hoang Su Phi).

The Bac Quang - Xin Man Road Improvement and Upgrading Project (Phase I) has a total length of 42.72 km, starting from the intersection with National Highway 2 in Tan Quang Commune (Bac Quang) to the end point in the center of Nam Dich Commune (Hoang Su Phi). The project is designed according to the standards of a grade IV mountainous road, with a total investment of over 1,496 billion VND, invested by the Provincial Project Management Board for Construction Investment.

The project was started on April 26, 2022, after 3 years of construction, despite many difficulties due to frequent heavy rains causing flash floods and landslides, greatly affecting the construction progress; but with great efforts and determination, the investor and contractors have overcome difficulties, completed on schedule and put into operation, creating favorable conditions for traffic activities connecting with the western districts of the province, with the Xin Man (Vietnam) - Do Long (China) border gate and connecting with Lao Cai province; contributing to the completion of the regional traffic infrastructure, maximizing the exploitation of all resources, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Thi Minh Hanh said she will urgently direct the completion of the DT.177 project.

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh acknowledged and commended the efforts of the investor, departments, branches, People's Committees of Bac Quang and Hoang Su Phi districts and contractors participating in the project for their close coordination during the project implementation process; commended the agencies, units and households for their consensus and favorable conditions in compensation and site clearance to implement the project to ensure the set progress.

Provincial leaders cut the ribbon to open technical traffic of Highway 177.

To maximize the effectiveness of the project to ensure sustainability and longevity, Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh requested the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and units participating in the construction of the project to urgently inspect, review and complete the remaining work well, ensure technical and aesthetic standards and organize acceptance and handover of completed projects for exploitation and use according to regulations. Continue to review and have solutions to ensure sustainability and effectiveness of items, overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters on the route. Local authorities and people where the route passes through need to focus on effectively exploiting the route to serve trade, travel, exchange of goods, serve tourists when coming to the area; embellish the landscape on both sides of the road to contribute to beautifying the route.

Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh stated: The DT.177 project is a vital route, which has just completed phase I, and will continue to implement phase II to connect with the Xin Man - Do Long border gate and connect with tourist areas and spots of Lao Cai province, opening up new development opportunities for the western districts of the province. In the province, there are still many routes that need to be renovated and upgraded such as DT.177, so it is necessary to learn from experience in leadership and direction; survey and assessment issues; and coordination in construction organization so that future traffic projects can be implemented better and more effectively.

The technical opening of the Bac Quang - Xin Man Road Renovation and Upgrade Project (Phase I) is of great significance in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. Ha Giang is determined to fulfill the targets and tasks according to the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, and prepare conditions for the organization of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2026 - 2030 term. This will be a fulcrum and lever to help the province continue to develop rapidly and sustainably in the new era.
