At the beginning of the press conference on the afternoon of May 27, coach Amorim affirmed: "I will not talk about long-term goals at this time. The important thing is to focus on each step. The immediate goal is to win the first match, then consider the next step."
The Portuguese strategist believes that even though MU does not have a place in the Champions League next season, this could be an advantage: "We can take advantage of that to prepare better, building a solid foundation for the future."
Amorim stressed the importance of testing the squad and giving young talent a chance: "We have almost a full squad, only a few players like Mazraoui are injured. In addition, many young players have been called up to understand what it is like to wear the Manchester United shirt. The match is an ideal opportunity to evaluate them."
He especially mentioned Ayden Heaven, the name that left a lot of impressions every time he played: "He is a typical example of taking advantage of opportunities and showing that he is worthy of the first team."
Even though it was just a friendly match, Amorim affirmed that MU always took the field with great responsibility: "Every match we play has millions of fans watching. That makes us have to show respect and play with dedication, no matter what the match is."

He concluded with a tribute to Southeast Asian fans: "It's wonderful to see the love of fans for MU, even in difficult seasons. This connection is what makes MU one of the greatest clubs in the world . For us, being here is an honor."
Meanwhile, Mason Mount affirmed: "Captain Bruno Fernandes said that every time you put on this shirt, you are representing the club, and you have to play with all your ability. We always want to win in every match."
Despite it being just a friendly match on the pre-season tour, Mount insists MU will not take it lightly: "We understand this will be a highly competitive match against a squad of top stars in the region. The whole team is very excited and wants to show the best performance possible."
MU no longer dominates the Premier League like before, but still has a large fan base in Southeast Asia. The friendly match between ASEAN All Stars and MU on May 28 is part of a charity fundraising campaign, and also aims to honor outstanding players in Southeast Asian football.
After the match against ASEAN All Stars, MU will fly to Hong Kong to play the next friendly match on May 30.
