HAGL Club won 1-0 against Hanoi Club at Pleiku Stadium, in the match of round 10 of V-League 2023 which took place on the afternoon of May 31. Paollo Oliveira was the one who scored the only goal from the penalty spot in the 6th minute to bring 3 points for HAGL. However, coach Kiatisak has the right to regret that the mountain town team could have defeated their opponent with a larger score.
In the final stages of the match, when HAGL was leading 1-0, striker Washington Brandao broke through from the left wing and dribbled past the Hanoi defenders. However, in the final phase of handling the ball in the Hanoi penalty area, the Brazilian striker fell under the tackle of Do Duy Manh.
Coach Kiatisak went to the referee to react after Brandao fell.
In response to Brandao’s fall, referee Tran Van Lap decisively waved his hand. On the field, the HAGL striker did not understand why his team was not awarded a penalty. On the sidelines, coach Kiatisak immediately went to the referee’s seat to protest, claiming that his team deserved a penalty.
In the slow motion situation with a direct camera angle, it can be seen that Duy Manh had an impact with Brandao. The Hanoi team's center back had a clever press and pressed into the HAGL striker's supporting leg.

In this match, HAGL had a good performance against Hanoi. Coach Kiatisak's team quenched their thirst for victory after 4 recent matches of only draws and losses. With 3 full points against the capital team, HAGL temporarily rose to 7th place with 13 points. Meanwhile, Hanoi Club received their 2nd loss since the beginning of the 2023 season and is currently 3rd on the rankings with 16 points.
