After the match, coach Masatada Ishii revealed his preparations for the away match at Viet Tri Stadium in the first leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final: “I will try to focus on each match, starting from the away match and then thinking about the home match. Before the tournament started, I told the players that we would win all 8 matches, but now we cannot do that. However, the Thai team must win the remaining 2 matches and win the championship.”

"Regarding the first leg of the final, although we only have 2 days to rest and it is inevitable that some players will be injured, we will try our best with the players we have and be ready to play," coach Masatada Ishii shared.

Speaking about the dramatic victory over the Philippines, coach Masatada Ishii emphasized: “The decisive factor in today’s victory was that all the players trained hard and fought for 120 minutes, along with the cheers from the fans at the stadium. That helped us win.”

Coach Masatada Ishii hopes that more Thai fans will come to cheer for the second leg of the final. He promised that the Thai team will win the championship as a gift for the fans at the beginning of the new year.

" Thank you Thai fans. Your support is the motivation that gives us the energy to compete. Today, we have the largest number of fans coming to the stadium in this tournament. We have one last home match (second leg final). I believe that more fans will come to cheer than today. The Thai team will give the fans a New Year's gift on that day," coach Masatada Ishii affirmed.

According to the schedule, the Thai team will play away at Viet Tri Stadium on January 2nd in the first leg of the final. Three days later, the Vietnamese team will play at Thailand's Rajamangala Stadium in the second leg of the final.
