Coach Van Gaal makes Indonesian football disappointed

"3FM Serious Request" is an annual charity event organized by public radio station NPO 3FM and has become a familiar part of Dutch social life. The event brings together artists, athletes and celebrities, who live together in "Het Glazen Huis" (Glass House) for several days to call for donations for humanitarian causes.

Van Gaal's appearance on this year's show is seen as a big boost, as his fame and influence could help spread the message more widely. Previously, the 74-year-old coach made Indonesian fans wait for a "football statement".

The news caused a stir because he was rumored to be leading Indonesia. However, the possibility is unlikely. Football expert Anton Sanjoyo shared on Kompas TV : "Van Gaal was contacted by Indonesia 10 years ago, but he refused. Now it is even more difficult for the two sides to connect, because he is old and rarely directly leads on the field."

On October 16, the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) announced that they had reached an agreement to terminate the contract with coach Patrick Kluivert early. The loss of a ticket to the 2026 World Cup was the reason for Kluivert's dismissal.
