U23 Vietnam players shine to help The Cong - Viettel close in on the top spot

Thanks to the brilliance of U23 Vietnam player Dinh Xuan Tien, The Cong - Viettel won a 2-1 comeback victory against Da Nang in round 7 of V-League 2025 - 2026 to rise to second place in the rankings.

On the evening of October 20, The Cong - Viettel welcomed Da Nang at home. With superior strength and form, the army team put pressure on the visitors right from the start. But a surprise happened when Da Nang was the team to take the lead.

In the 37th minute, Da Nang opened the score 1-0 with their first shot since the start of the match. In a high ball, defender Dinh Viet Tu of The Cong - Viettel cleared the foul, Milan Makaric seized the opportunity to shoot close to the goal to defeat goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet.

2-1 was the final score of the match. The victory helped coach Popov's team rise to second place in the rankings after round 7 of V-League 2025 - 2026 with 15 points, 2 points behind the top team Ninh Binh.
