Spreading the quintessence of Vietnamese culture
Held for the second time in Da Nang , the Vietnamese Tea Culture Program 2025 opens up a vivid, real-life experience space for locals and tourists.
Here, visitors can directly experience tea and cake culture through stories, rituals and the imprint of tea art recreated right at the event.
Mr. La Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA), said that within the framework of the program, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy rare teas such as ancient Snow Lotus tea, West Lake lotus tea... and many famous tea lines from all regions of the country.
Along with that is enjoying traditional cakes such as: banh to, banh in, banh it la gai, banh thuan, banh com, banh da lon, banh dau xanh... and watching promotional programs, presentations on tea making - cake making by artisans and professional chefs.
“The highlight of the program focuses on exploiting the close relationship between tea and cakes in Vietnamese culture. From there, we can approach the art of Vietnamese tea ceremony in a systematic and profound way, making tea a cultural ambassador, bringing the story and philosophy of life of Vietnamese people to the world ,” said Mr. Khanh.
According to Ms. Le Thi Ai Tiep, Head of Accommodation Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Da Nang is being seen as a destination that balances sea and mountains, modernity and heritage, culture and cuisine. The city's tourism is oriented towards modernity but still preserves cultural depth. The program "Vietnamese Tea Culture" contributes to spreading the quintessence of Vietnamese culture and enriching the experience for people and tourists when coming to Da Nang.
From a broader perspective, “Vietnamese Tea Culture 2025” in Da Nang is not only about preserving heritage but also has the mission of promoting tourism economy. In the context of cultural tourism products becoming increasingly popular, turning tea and cake culture into a tourism product is a potential direction.
According to Mr. Doan Van Tuan, Vice President of Da Nang Culinary Culture Association (DCCA), this is a strategic step of DCCA to reposition the value of local cuisine. Through the combination of tea and cakes, the program not only expresses profound local cultural perspectives but also introduces the sophistication in taste of the Central region to domestic and international friends.
“The event is expected to become an annual cultural meeting point, connecting like-minded souls who love beauty and appreciate traditional values. The unique experiences at the program contribute to enriching Da Nang’s tourism products, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to the city,” Mr. Tuan shared.

Connecting businesses and communities
In addition to recreating the unique Vietnamese tea culture, the program "Ancient tea scent - Ancient cake taste" also opens up opportunities for businesses, craft villages and production facilities from many regions to display and introduce typical products, contributing to extending the journey of spreading culture with products of sustainable value.
Ms. Ngo Thi Ai Nhi, Kinh Do Specialty Joint Stock Company (Hue) said that this is the first time the enterprise has participated in an event to promote and introduce tea culture to people and tourists in Da Nang.
On this occasion, the company brings many Hue specialties, notably lotus tea and Truoi tea - the product that won first prize at the Hue City Innovation and Startup Competition 2025... with the desire to widely introduce traditional dishes to the tea-loving community.
“We want to spread those traditional values to tourists, so that they understand that Hue still has many delicious dishes associated with memories and history,” Ms. Nhi shared.

Also at the tea display space, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, representative of Mien Food Joint Stock Company (Hanoi), introduced lotus tea products. According to Ms. Thuy, the event is an opportunity to introduce and spread the journey of turning each lotus flower and lotus leaf into a tea with many levels and flavors: light - strong - astringent - sweet aftertaste.
In particular, the combination of lotus leaf tea with Ngoc Linh ginseng leaves is a highlight, bringing a new experience, making many tea drinkers excited.
“That makes me believe that Vietnamese tea still has a lot of room for creativity. I hope Da Nang will organize more tea festivals, not just once a year but more often, so that young people can understand and love the value of Vietnamese tea more. Events like this not only promote products, but also arouse pride in Vietnamese herbs and tea essence,” Ms. Thuy shared.

Along with tea culture, traditional cakes also created a special highlight at the event. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha, representative of Ha Anh Bakery (Hanoi) said that tea and cakes have had a close relationship in Vietnamese life since ancient times, creating a beautiful culinary culture.
Not only introducing traditional cakes at the event, the establishment also boldly added tea flavor to the cakes, creating unique products.
We hope to bring the value of Vietnamese tea and traditional cakes closer to the people and tourists when coming to Da Nang. The city needs more events like this to widely promote the tea and cake culture; thereby, contributing to shaping and creating more tourism products with the identity of Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general.
