Spreading the essence of Vietnamese culture.

Held for the second time in Da Nang , the Vietnam Tea Culture Program 2025 opens up a vibrant, hands-on experience space for locals and tourists.

Here, visitors can directly experience the tea and pastry culture through stories, rituals, and the hallmarks of the art of tea appreciation, all recreated right at the event.

Mr. La Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA), said that within the framework of the program, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy rare teas such as: ancient Snow Lotus tea, West Lake lotus tea… along with many famous tea varieties from all regions of the country.

In addition, visitors can enjoy traditional cakes such as: banh to, banh in, banh it la gai, banh thuan, banh com, banh da lon, banh dau xanh… and watch demonstrations and presentations on tea making and cake-making performed by professional artisans and chefs.

“The highlight of the program focuses on exploring the close relationship between tea and cakes in Vietnamese culture. From there, we can approach the art of Vietnamese tea ceremony in a systematic and profound way, making tea a cultural ambassador, carrying the stories and philosophies of Vietnamese life to the world ,” Mr. Khanh said.

According to Ms. Le Thi Ai Tiep, Head of the Accommodation Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Da Nang is being recognized as a destination that balances sea and mountains, modernity and heritage, culture and cuisine. The city's tourism aims for modernity while preserving cultural depth. The "Vietnamese Tea Culture" program contributes to spreading the essence of Vietnamese culture and enriching the experiences of locals and tourists visiting Da Nang.

From a broader perspective, the "Vietnamese Tea Culture 2025" initiative in Da Nang is not only about preserving heritage but also carries the mission of promoting tourism. In the context of increasingly popular cultural tourism products, integrating tea and pastry culture into tourism offerings is a promising direction.

According to Mr. Doan Van Tuan, Vice President of the Da Nang Culinary Culture Association (DCCA), this is a strategic step by DCCA to redefine the value of local cuisine. Through the combination of tea and pastries, the program both expresses profound local cultural perspectives and introduces the refined taste of Central Vietnam to friends both domestically and internationally.

“The event is expected to become an annual cultural gathering, connecting like-minded souls who appreciate beauty and cherish traditional values. The unique experiences at the program will contribute to enriching Da Nang's tourism products, attracting domestic and international tourists to the city,” Mr. Tuan shared.

Connecting businesses and communities

Besides recreating the rich cultural space of Vietnamese tea, the "Ancient Tea Flavors - Traditional Cake Flavors" program also opens opportunities for businesses, craft villages, and production facilities from many regions to display and introduce their characteristic products, contributing to extending the journey of spreading culture through products with sustainable value.

Ms. Ngo Thi Ai Nhi, from Kinh Do Specialty Joint Stock Company (Hue), said that this is the first time the company has participated in an event to promote and introduce tea culture to people and tourists in Da Nang.

On this occasion, the company is bringing many specialties from Hue, most notably lotus tea and Truoi tea - products that won first prize at the Hue City Innovation and Startup Competition 2025… with the desire to introduce traditional dishes widely to the tea-loving community.

"We hope to spread these traditional values to tourists, so they understand that Hue still has many delicious dishes associated with memories and history," Ms. Nhi shared.

Also at the tea exhibition space, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, representative of Mien Food Joint Stock Company (Hanoi), introduced lotus tea products. According to Ms. Thuy, the event is an opportunity to introduce and spread the story of how each lotus flower and leaf is transformed into a tea with many nuances and flavors: refreshing - rich - astringent - sweet aftertaste.

In particular, the combination of lotus leaf tea with Ngoc Linh ginseng leaves is a highlight, offering a novel experience that delights many tea drinkers.

“That makes me believe that Vietnamese tea still has a lot of room for innovation. I hope Da Nang will organize more tea festivals, not just once a year but more frequently, so that young people understand and appreciate the value of Vietnamese tea more. Events like this not only promote the product but also awaken pride in the herbs and essence of Vietnamese tea,” Ms. Thuy shared.

Alongside tea culture, traditional pastries also created a distinctive highlight at the event. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha, representative of Ha Anh Bakery (Hanoi), said that tea and pastries have had a close relationship in Vietnamese life since ancient times, creating a beautiful culinary culture.

In addition to showcasing traditional pastries at the event, the establishment boldly incorporated tea flavors into its cakes, creating a unique product.

"

We aim to bring the value of Vietnamese tea and traditional pastries closer to the people and tourists visiting Da Nang. The city needs more events like this to widely promote tea and pastry culture; thereby contributing to shaping and creating more tourism products that reflect the identity of Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general.
