As an ophthalmologist at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Gabrielle Henry brings a powerful message to the international stage about public health, especially eye care and support for the visually impaired. She has shared her journey as a testament to how women can balance a demanding medical career with a passion for theatre.

Before arriving in Thailand, Gabrielle also faced personal hardships as her home country Jamaica was hit by Hurricane Melissa in late October, causing severe damage. She left for the pageant with a heavy heart but was determined to bring Jamaica to the world .
