To prepare for the match with U23 Cambodia, on the evening of July 21, U23 Vietnam continued to practice at the training ground of the Gelora Bung Karno sports complex, Jakarta (Indonesia) to complete the final preparations.
Coach Kim Sang-sik continued to spend most of this training session reviewing and perfecting tactics as well as testing and arranging personnel for the team's lineup.
In addition, the Korean coach also focuses on implementing specialized exercises to improve scoring efficiency for attacking players.
The training atmosphere of the whole team was maintained in a positive and highly focused state.
Good news for U23 Vietnam when striker Nguyen Dinh Bac has returned to normal training with the team.
In the previous training session, Dinh Bac had to practice separately under the guidance of the team doctor due to muscle overload.
Dinh Bac's return helps U23 Vietnam have the strongest force to prepare for the important match with the goal of winning all 3 points.
In an interview with Vietnamese press working in Jakarta, defender Vo Anh Quan frankly shared about the difficulties he experienced in the opening match against U23 Laos.
“At the beginning of the match I lost the ball a lot, which led to a bad mentality and I couldn't show my true ability.
However, coach Kim Sang-sik did not scold me but only encouraged me to try harder in practice, to maintain the highest concentration so as not to repeat mistakes," Anh Quan said.
Commenting on U23 Cambodia, Anh Quan said: "Compared to U23 Laos, U23 Cambodia controls the ball better and plays more confidently, so the whole team needs to focus to achieve the best results."
After a 3-0 victory over U23 Laos, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team only need 1 more point to qualify for the semi-finals as group B winners.
However, the goal of U23 Vietnam when entering the field is always to aim for victory and preserve strength for the next race.
