Hanoi's Hoang Duc shone with two headers, helping Viettel defeat Binh Dinh 2-1 in round 8 of the V-League 2022.

In the 60th minute, Viettel counter-attacked and Danh Trung was fouled, but Tien Anh still managed to get the ball, sprint forward, and cross it into the penalty area. Unmarked, Hoang Duc headed the ball skillfully, giving Dang Van Lam no chance to save it.

In the second minute of added time, Hoang Duc once again chose the perfect spot from Huu Thang's corner kick to head the ball into the net. This time, Van Lam made a diving save, but the ball deflected off Pham Van Thanh and rolled back into the net, leaving Adriano Schmidt helpless.

Hoang Duc shone brightly, overshadowing substitute Ha Duc Chinh's goal in the 84th minute. Van Thanh delivered an early cross from the right wing, allowing Duc Chinh to head the ball from close range. Goalkeeper Van Phong dived to block the shot, but it hit the post, giving Duc Chinh the chance to pounce on the rebound and score.

This was Duc Chinh's first goal in two years. His last goal was on May 2nd, 2021, when he played for Da Nang , also in a 1-2 loss to Viettel. The striker, born in 1997, nearly completed a brace in the 88th minute if his volley from just outside the penalty area hadn't gone wide of the post.

With a 2-1 victory, Viettel ended their four-match winless streak and became the first team to win in Round 8 of the V-League 2022. Viettel moved up to sixth place with 11 points, level with Hanoi Police but having played one more match.

In round 9, Viettel will travel to Thanh Hoa on May 28th, while Binh Dinh will host Nam Dinh at their home stadium in Quy Nhon.
