At Vietnam Samho Co., Ltd., Binh My commune, Ho Chi Minh City, studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh has always been a central and consistent focus of the grassroots trade union.
Lessons in saving and sharing.
For a long time, the Executive Committee of the company's 8,500-employee trade union has thoroughly promoted and disseminated the study of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings. Every regular meeting includes a thematic discussion on President Ho Chi Minh, linking the study of his teachings to daily work and emulation movements within the unit.
Many models and activities for studying President Ho Chi Minh's teachings have been effectively implemented, a prime example being the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space. This model, implemented since 2023, has become a familiar destination for trade union officials, members, and workers, offering thousands of documents and books.
Another impressive highlight is that the Trade Union has advised the enterprise to develop a code of conduct for the workplace, helping employees to work and live in a healthy, cultured, and ethical manner.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh An, Chairman of the company's Trade Union, said that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style has brought about significant changes in the performance of professional and political tasks of the organization as well as individuals, thereby making a practical contribution to the sustainable development of the enterprise.
Specifically, learning from President Ho Chi Minh's virtues of thrift, integrity, and honesty, the "Excellent Worker - Creative Worker" movement at the company receives numerous improvement proposals from employees each month. Approximately 10 improvement proposals and 200 ideas are rewarded by the company each month. Most of these improvement proposals yield practical results such as increased productivity, improved quality, reduced defective goods, and improved working environments, benefiting the company and saving it a significant amount of money.

Similarly, learning from President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on unity and mutual support has clearly enhanced the spirit of mutual assistance among the company's union members and workers.
Accordingly, through the efforts of the Trade Union, the company's employees collectively donated over 500 million VND to support nearly 30 union members suffering from serious illnesses. In 2025 alone, the company mobilized resources to build and renovate 4 union-sponsored homes; collected approximately 200 million VND from the "piggy bank" campaign to award scholarships to 200 underprivileged, studious children of union members; and raised 253 million VND to support people affected by natural disasters and floods…
Following the example of President Ho Chi Minh, the Trade Union of Vietnam Samho Co., Ltd. has proposed solutions to improve operational efficiency. These include coordinating with the company to implement many practical care models for union members and employees. "Such as building a kindergarten to care for the children of workers; establishing a trade union store selling essential products at stable prices; and equipping the company with four ice-making machines to provide free ice cubes daily for employees," Mr. An said.
A solid foundation
Learning from President Ho Chi Minh is also a priority for the employees and the Trade Union of Saigon Food Joint Stock Company - Vinh Loc Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City. The Trade Union has identified specific and relatable lessons to learn from President Ho Chi Minh, making them easy for employees to understand and implement, such as performing better and being more proactive in their work.
That is also why the Trade Union and the company's Board of Directors continuously launch creative emulation movements among workers and have a policy of rewarding them appropriately. This movement not only helps employees develop their abilities but also helps the company save 2-3 billion VND in costs each year.

Ms. Pham Thi Hong Ha, Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union, revealed that the creative emulation movement is being strongly promoted during this year's Workers' Month. The company and the Trade Union expect the total amount of rewards for employees participating in this emulation campaign to reach 200 million VND.
According to Ms. Ha, for grassroots trade unions, learning from President Ho Chi Minh means proactively fulfilling their function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers through regular dialogues, worker conferences, and negotiating and signing collective labor agreements with many clauses that are more favorable than the regulations.
Practical care
A highlight of the Saigon Food Joint Stock Company's Trade Union is the effective development and implementation of practical and sustainable welfare models such as the "Living Like Flowers" fund; organizing diverse cultural and sports activities to improve the spiritual life of employees…
In this context, the "green, clean, and beautiful dormitory" model is a vivid example, where the Trade Union collaborates with workers' dormitories to improve the landscape, plant trees, vegetables, and fruits; and donate water filters… contributing to a more ideal living space for workers.
Another notable achievement is the establishment of a Social Welfare Support Committee to better care for the lives of workers outside the factory. This model originated during the COVID-19 pandemic, when, recognizing that most welfare activities were concentrated within the enterprise while many workers, especially those living in rented accommodations, faced numerous difficulties, the Trade Union came up with the idea of establishing a Social Welfare Support Committee.
"With funding from the company and the Trade Union, we organize visits, donate essential goods and medicine, and improve living conditions for workers in rented accommodations… and then expand to many other activities," said Ms. Pham Thi Hong Ha, adding that they will soon implement a program to provide supplementary meals (prenatal milk) for pregnant female workers.
It is known that, in addition to models for caring for the material well-being of employees, the company's Trade Union has coordinated the construction and effective maintenance of the "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" associated with the Reading Culture Corner, creating a regular political and cultural activity point, contributing to raising awareness, fostering self-discipline, and building a civilized and united working environment.
According to the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Thai Thu Xuong, grassroots trade union officials must be pioneers in cultivating ethics, innovating thinking and working style. At the same time, they must continue to maintain and promote the learning of President Ho Chi Minh's spirit of respecting and being close to the people, thereby building a style of trade union official that is always "close to the grassroots, close to the workers".
Ms. Thai Thu Xuong emphasized that grassroots trade unions must listen to the voices of workers right in the production workshops, understand their concerns in each residential area, and promptly advise on practical policies regarding wages, housing, and welfare. "With this spirit, the Ho Chi Minh City trade union officials will become 'ambassadors' bringing President Ho Chi Minh's ideology closer to the working class and laborers," the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor affirmed.
Typical examples
As one of the workers who received support through learning from President Ho Chi Minh's example of mutual assistance among the workforce at Vietnam Samho Co., Ltd., Ms. Le Thi Diem was deeply moved and grateful.
Ms. Diem suffers from multiple illnesses, but her meager factory worker salary makes both her life and treatment quite difficult. Thanks to the support from her colleagues, mobilized by the Trade Union, she has additional funds and can avoid borrowing from outside sources at high interest rates.
Meanwhile, at Saigon Food Joint Stock Company, worker Cao Thi Thu said that the Trade Union always listens to the workers, and the timely care provided by the Trade Union and the company helps workers like her feel cared for, and their lives are thus less difficult.
With their outstanding achievements, both the Trade Union of Vietnam Samho Co., Ltd. and the Trade Union of Saigon Food Joint Stock Company were honored by the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor as exemplary models in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh.
