The HBSF Tour 2 MIN Table Cup 2025 billiards tournament takes place from July 31 to August 5 at the Sports and Fitness Service Center (215C Ly Thuong Kiet, Phu Tho Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). This is a prestigious billiards tournament organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF).
Tour 2 has 4 categories: men's 3-cushion carom, women's 3-cushion carom, men's 9-cushion pool and women's 9-cushion pool, gathering nearly 500 Vietnamese and international players to participate.
On the first competition day, July 31, the qualifying round 2 of 3-cushion carom and men's 9-ball pool took place.
In the men's 3-cushion carom event, Tran Quyet Chien's student Le Hoang Kim made a strong impression with 3 consecutive victories against Tran Le Hoai Bao (30-10), Truong Hoang Phong (30-12) and Pham Quang Loi (30-14) to win 1 of 16 qualifying spots to participate in the official Round 1.
Some other notable names also made it to the next round such as Mai Hong Son, Nguyen An Toan, Nguyen Vi Dung, Nguyen Thanh Liem, Nguyen Huu Hau.
In the men's 9-ball pool event, veteran players such as Nguyen Khanh Hoang, Truong Hoang Lam, Vu Tuan Anh, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Lim Leng, Nguyen Duc Anh, Kieu Thien Khoi... demonstrated their mettle to enter the top 32 qualifying spots.
On the second day of competition (August 1), the tournament continued with the remaining qualifying matches to select the final names in the top 16 men's 3-cushion carom and top 32 men's 9-ball pool to advance to the main round Round 1.
HBSF Tour 2 also marked an important turning point when the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF) implemented the update of athlete data to complete management records, better support players in professional activities, tournaments and develop the billiards movement.
Updating athlete data helps manage athletes accurately and scientifically , providing athletes with a complete and professional database; reviewing and approving participation in official tournaments; ensuring benefits in grassroots activities, training and rewards for players... aiming to automate the tournament system.
