Ms. Vo Thi Minh Tai, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Trung commune, said: "From 1998 to the present, the Naval Academy has accompanied and assisted the people of Khanh Trung commune a great deal. From supporting the construction of charitable houses and solidarity houses to summer volunteer activities… This companionship over the past 25 years has contributed to the economic development and rural development of the locality. The government and people all highly appreciate the affection the academy has shown to the locality."
Colonel Nguyen Van Ton, Deputy Head of Political Affairs at the Naval Academy, stated: "The Naval Academy regularly assists Khanh Trung commune. Over the years, the academy's civilian outreach work has been well-executed through activities such as: organizing medical examinations and treatment for the people; helping people repair roads, dredge canals, and clean village roads; building houses of gratitude for families entitled to preferential policies; and giving gifts and assistance to poor households. The Naval Academy always considers civilian outreach work a crucial task. Specifically in Khanh Hoa province, the Party Committee of the Naval Academy has signed a cooperation agreement with the Nha Trang City Party Committee; and the academy has also established fraternal ties with more than 30 units and localities. Besides Khanh Trung commune, the academy also promotes activities contributing to poverty reduction in other localities such as Ninh Van (Ninh Hoa town); Dien Lac (Dien Khanh district); Phuoc Long, Vinh Truong, Vinh Nguyen, Vinh Hai, Phuoc Dong (Nha Trang city)... with funding of hundreds of millions of VND per year." This has left a positive impression on the local people, strengthening the relationship and fostering closer ties between the military and the civilian population.
