A delegation from the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City visited the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to express condolences and encouragement to the Japanese people following the damage caused by the earthquake on the Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture.

On January 5th, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy through the Japanese Consulate General and the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City for the losses caused by the earthquake that struck the Noto Peninsula and surrounding areas in central Japan. The earthquake, which occurred on January 1st, resulted in numerous deaths and injuries, and destroyed many buildings and infrastructure. Furthermore, the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City also extended its condolences for the immense loss suffered by the Japanese Coast Guard, which lost five servicemen while transporting relief supplies from Haneda Airport to Niigata Prefecture to assist earthquake victims. Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc shared that the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City believes that under the leadership of the Japanese government , the government and people of Japan will rescue more victims who have not yet been found, and will soon overcome the consequences of the earthquake to stabilize people's lives. Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc also hoped that the Consul General and the Japanese Consulate General would help convey the deepest condolences of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City to the families of the victims. The Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. ONO Masuo, expressed his deep gratitude for the friendship and kind condolences of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City. According to Mr. ONO Masuo, rescue efforts for victims still trapped under the rubble of the Noto Peninsula earthquake are continuing urgently. The Japanese Consul General believes that with the encouragement and support of the government, people, and the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, the Japanese people will continue to unite to soon overcome the effects of the natural disaster.
