On January 7, the Women's Union of Thanh Thuy district held a review of 3 years of implementing the "Godmother" program and presented savings and Tet gifts to children in difficult circumstances; and rewarded children with excellent academic achievements.
Responding to the "Godmother" program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Thanh Thuy District Women's Union has actively mobilized organizations and individuals to participate. With the motto "Children always have mothers", after 3 years of implementing the "Godmother" program, up to now, the District Women's Union has sponsored 18 orphans... with a total budget of over 500 million VND.
At the conference, delegates also heard stories and shared experiences of the Godmothers in the process of accompanying and caring for the children. The love of the Godmothers has helped the children have more motivation to overcome difficulties, rise up in life, and strive to become useful citizens for society.
On this occasion, the District Women's Union coordinated with the District People's Court and the District People's Procuracy to present a savings book worth 30 million VND to Chu Ngoc Van in Zone 8, Thanh Thuy Town; coordinated with the District Department of Education and Training to present a savings book worth 30 million VND to Lim Anh Thu in Zone 2, Tan Phuong Commune. At the same time, the Union also mobilized benefactors to present 118 Tet gifts with a total value of 59 million VND to orphans in difficult circumstances in the district.
