While working as a construction worker, Mr. Chuong was unfortunately electrocuted, causing severe burns to more than 50% of his body. Due to his poor family background, his daughter had to borrow money to send him from Dak Lak to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chuong (52 years old, residing in village 9, Ea Rok commune, Dak Lak province), a single father of four children, is in critical condition after an electric shock accident. The incident left Mr. Chuong with severe burns, pushing his already poor family into dire straits.
More than 10 years ago, Mr. Chuong divorced and had to raise 4 children alone. Having no land to cultivate, he had to work as a construction worker everywhere to earn money to support his life and send his children to school.

The dilapidated house is home to five father and children. There, Mr. Chuong always cherishes the dream that his children will be able to study successfully and not have to suffer the same hardship as him.
Disaster struck on the afternoon of October 10, when Mr. Chuong was working at a construction site. He was unfortunately electrocuted by a three-phase current, causing severe burns all over his body, with much of his flesh charred black.
Lying motionless in pain, he was taken to the Central Highlands General Hospital by his relatives for emergency treatment. However, due to his serious condition, the doctors advised his family to transfer him to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for more intensive treatment.

Doctor Phan Thanh Ai, Department of Orthopedics and Trauma, Tay Nguyen General Hospital, said that Mr. Chuong suffered electrical burns covering more than 50% of his body, the burns were very deep and caused serious damage.
"Electrical burns are different from boiling water burns. Patient Chuong's burns are very deep and cause pain to the patient. With this injury, the hospital provided first aid and initial medication, but for intensive treatment with professional, modern equipment, we advise the patient's family to transfer the patient to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for treatment," Dr. Ai informed.
Hearing that the cost of treatment for her father could be up to hundreds of millions of dong, Nguyen Thao Chinh (25 years old), Mr. Chuong's eldest daughter, could not help but feel stunned, tears welling up in her eyes.
Chinh said that after their parents divorced, the four children lived with their father in a simple house. Despite frequent headaches and having to take medication, Mr. Chuong still worked hard to support his children.
When he grew up, Chinh got married and lived and worked in Buon Ma Thuot ward. Having his own family, Chinh worked hard with the hope of being able to support his father a little and raise his 3 younger siblings to go to school.

"The cost of my father's treatment is too great. I can only use the money I have saved up for a long time and borrow money everywhere to save him. Seeing my father in pain, his body no longer intact, I feel so heartbroken. I will have my father transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment and will try my best to take care of him," Chinh said, choking up.
Lying on the stretcher, Mr. Chuong groaned softly, gritting his teeth to endure the burns all over his body that were swelling and oozing pus. More than anyone, he wanted to recover soon so he could return home to his children. The accident not only took away his health but also pushed his whole family into misery.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Pham Dac Hoang Vu, Department of Culture - Society of Ea Rok commune, said that Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chuong's situation is very difficult, and he does not have health insurance, so the cost of treatment will be very large.
"The government is contacting to support Mr. Chuong in getting a health insurance card and mobilizing donations to help his family overcome this difficult period. However, the resources in the commune are very limited, so we hope the community will join hands to support and help Mr. Chuong with the cost of medical treatment and the opportunity to recover," Mr. Vu shared.
