In the bustling music and brilliant colors of flags, the parade to show off the forces opening the Congress created an exciting, solemn and proud atmosphere. The parade groups included armed forces, veterans, union members, youth, women, farmers, students, referees, athletes, representatives of residential villages and the ensemble of Thach Hoa Primary School and Hoa Lac Karate Club. The Aerobic and Karate ensemble with the participation of more than 80 students brought strong and flexible rhythms, demonstrating the dynamic spirit, will to practice and aspiration to rise of the young generation of Hoa Lac.
Next was the traditional torch-lighting ceremony - the sacred symbol of the noble spirit of sportsmanship . The torch was lit from the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Can Kiem commune (where Uncle Ho lived and worked during the period 1955-1956), and was honorably carried to the stage by athlete Can Van Thang - national champion in Jujitsu, an outstanding son of the sports of his hometown Hoa Lac.
The Congress flame was lit by the Party Secretary of Dong Phuoc An commune, symbolizing the belief, will and aspiration to contribute of the Party Committee, government and people of Hoa Lac.
Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Lac Commune Dao Xuan Ban emphasized that the first Hoa Lac Commune Sports and Physical Training Congress is a great festival for all people, an opportunity to demonstrate the strength, sportsmanship and great national unity. The Congress not only aims to develop the physical training movement, but also contributes to the successful implementation of political , economic and social tasks in the locality.
In just 3 months since its establishment, the commune has organized 4 commune-level sports tournaments, attracting hundreds of athletes to participate in many competitions, such as: Volleyball, table tennis, badminton, tug of war, chess, Chinese chess, creating a bustling atmosphere, connecting the community, contributing to building a healthy cultural life and maintaining local security and order.
The 1st Hoa Lac Commune Sports Festival with the following events: Chess, Chinese chess, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, shuttlecock kicking. This is an opportunity to discover and select outstanding athletes to participate in the 11th Hanoi City Sports Festival.
With the exciting atmosphere and spreading sports spirit, the 1st Hoa Lac Commune Sports Festival was a great success, contributing to the development of the commune's sports movement more and more strongly and firmly, contributing to the cause of building a civilized = modern - happy Hanoi Capital.
