The historic floods from November 16th to 22nd caused severe damage in Gia Lai province, with over 51,800 houses deeply submerged, and 32,629 houses collapsing, being swept away, or severely damaged. Of these, 674 houses were completely destroyed and urgently need to be rebuilt to help residents stabilize their lives as soon as possible.

Following the Prime Minister's directive on the "Quang Trung Campaign," the 34th Army Corps deployed over 700 officers and soldiers, along with equipment and supplies, to support localities in Gia Lai province in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and rebuilding houses for the people. In Gia Lai, units including the 31st Division, the 320th Division, the Military School, the 40th Artillery Brigade, the 7th Engineering Brigade, the 273rd Brigade, the 29th Communications Regiment, the General Staff, and the Logistics and Technical Department built 64 new houses for households severely affected by the natural disaster.
After listening to reports from agencies and units on the progress and results of the task implementation, Major General Le Van Cuong commended the proactive, urgent, and wholehearted dedication to the people shown by the officers and soldiers of the agencies and units participating in the campaign. The Deputy Commander of the 34th Army Corps emphasized that the "Quang Trung Campaign" is not only an emergency relief operation for flood victims, but also a profound political activity, contributing to the cultivation and promotion of the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era.

Major General Le Van Cuong also requested that units continue to proactively implement plans to both carry out construction and be ready to mobilize to support the people when needed; ensure the effective implementation of Party and political work; take care of the soldiers' lives; and organize construction according to technical standards, safely, and meeting the requirements of long-term disaster prevention and control.
The entire Corps is striving to complete this mission as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible. In addition, agencies and units need to organize forces to conduct health check-ups and disease prevention activities for the people after the floods, and ensure that the soldiers' meals are adequate and scientifically balanced.
