Women's Unions of districts, cities and towns develop plans, innovate content and methods of operation, focus on the grassroots; replicate advanced models and examples in the fields of labor and production, and improve the quality of women's lives.
Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Tien Giang province Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong said, bearing in mind Uncle Ho's teaching: "The beautiful mountains and rivers of Vietnam are woven and embroidered by our women, young and old, to make them more beautiful and brilliant", the cadres and women's union of Tien Giang with the aspiration to rise up have tried their best to study, practice, and enthusiastically participate in patriotic movements, "Building Tien Giang women to meet the requirements of the new era" associated with promoting "Studying and following the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh ", the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's to contribute to fostering the values of a prosperous, progressive, happy, and civilized family" and the key tasks of the Union... Thereby, contributing to affirming the role and position of Tien Giang women in the new period, ready to enter a new era, the era of the nation's rise.
Highlighted through the campaign "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families" in the period of 2020 - 2021, despite facing many difficulties and challenges from natural disasters and the Covid-19 pandemic, the Women's Unions at all levels in the province have implemented many creative and flexible activities suitable to the needs of each group of women and the actual situation of the locality.
With the special competition with the theme "90 practical actions for women and children", many exciting activities were organized such as: The program "Step to school" awarded 512 scholarships to students in especially difficult circumstances, with a total budget of over 600 million VND; the model "Women save to help each other buy family health insurance" helped nearly 4,000 cases buy health insurance cards, with a total amount of over 2.7 billion VND; 117 charity houses were built and repaired, with a total budget of 4.4 billion VND; 696 fresh water tanks; 2,100 gifts with a total value of over 6.7 billion VND to help poor and disadvantaged HVPN.
In 2021, with a spirit of solidarity and high determination, the Women's Union at all levels proactively deployed and drastically implemented measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, launching the implementation of the campaign "Tien Giang Women Respond to the Million Gifts Sharing Love Program to Help Women and Children Overcome Difficulties, Defeat Diseases and Natural Disasters".
Mobilized 58 tons of necessities, nearly 85 tons of agricultural products, 500 boxes of noodles, 2,000 banh tet, more than 7,000 meals... over 8.3 billion VND to help HVPN, poor households, locked-down households, and workers in boarding houses affected by the epidemic.
At the same time, to practically welcome the Congress of Women at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, and the 13th National Women's Congress for the 2022-2027 term, the Provincial Women's Union launched a special emulation campaign with many meaningful projects and tasks to care for and support HVPN and children in difficult circumstances, with a total value of over 17 billion VND.
In addition, the Association at all levels has always been a companion of HVPN in economic development, rising out of poverty, through forms of support for loans from the Social Policy Bank, the Women's Economic Development Support Fund, programs, projects... has supported 80,000 women in production, business, economic development, with more than 2,000 billion VND; opened 515 industrial sewing classes, small-scale industry, livestock and poultry farming, aquaculture, mushroom growing, fruit gardens... for 13,075 female workers in need and introduced jobs to 10,155 female workers.
Over the past 5 years, the Association has helped 32,235 poor women and 16,228 women heads of poor households to develop their economy and stabilize their lives, making an important contribution to the province's poverty reduction work.
Regarding the implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle", over the past 5 years, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has organized many forms to attract the participation of HVPN sisters such as: Organizing thematic talks; "Telling stories about Uncle Ho" contest; Launching the worship of Uncle Ho's portrait in solemn places in the family and workplace; Launching the planting of nearly 163,500 trees in response to "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" and social security activities, with a total amount of mobilized support of over 10 billion VND.

Ms. Dao Thi Kim Nuong, President of the Women's Union of Tan Hoa Tay Commune, Tan Phuoc District, said that over the past 5 years, she and the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of the commune have organized propaganda on resolutions and policies of the Party, policies and laws of the State, codes of law, along with issues directly related to the lives and health of women and children.
In particular, implementing PTTĐ associated with promoting the "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" has been supported by HVPN through continuing to maintain saving models. Since then, it has created a strong spread in HVPN, with 915/992 members participating in practicing saving such as: Saving in daily living expenses to help poor HVPN and doing social work...
Recently, the Women's Union of Tien Giang province held a conference to commend typical advanced women in the period of 2020 - 2025 and launch the implementation of the period of 2025 - 2030; commend and reward exemplary women's collectives and individuals in various fields. Through the implementation of the PTTĐ, the provincial women's movement has had over 7,500 typical examples in various fields discovered and commended; of which, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 58 outstanding individuals and 95 collectives; awarded the "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" Medal to 155 individuals; 626 collectives and individuals were commended and rewarded by the provincial Women's Union, branches and levels; the District, City, Town Women's Union and its affiliated Associations awarded Certificates of Merit to 715 outstanding collectives and 815 individuals. The Provincial Women's Union commended and rewarded 70 typical advanced women representing various sectors, fields, and social classes; at the same time, launched the 2025-2030 period. |
Along with that, Ms. Nuong also researched and supported female members through economic development loans, helping more than 1,000 HVPN members borrow money for livestock farming, production and small business to develop household economy, create jobs, increase income and stabilize life.
More valuable is that Ms. Nuong also connects philanthropists to sponsor, care for, and raise orphans; supports orphans, children in difficult circumstances, and special circumstances; and together with the Executive Committee, mobilizes groups of philanthropists inside and outside the commune to contribute funds to sponsor 16 orphans and children in difficult circumstances. With a total support amount of more than 300 million VND, it has helped the children have more motivation to go to school.
Or like Ms. Nguyen Hoang Nhan, a core member of the Women's Union of Cho Gao town, Cho Gao district, always cares about helping women in difficult circumstances, taking the lead in all activities of the Union. Every year, Ms. Nhan always works with the Union to approach difficult circumstances, helping with gifts such as cash and necessities to encourage women to rise up and stabilize their lives.
Specifically, she supported the construction of a charity home for the district Women's Union's foster children with an amount of 60 million VND; every quarter, she receives support for the district's foster children with a support amount of over 34 million VND to date... In addition, every month, she also supports and visits people in especially difficult circumstances, without shelter, and supports them with a quarterly amount of over 5 million VND.
