On July 23, at the program introducing the "Green Transformation Forum and Recycling Day 2025", Ms. Nguyen Bich Dien - Deputy General Director of Faslink, said that the first challenge for businesses implementing green transformation is how to ensure greenness but also meet growth requirements, and products are accepted by the market.
Especially for businesses in the fashion and textile industry, customers are very concerned about product prices. While green and recycled products often have high prices.
The next and also common challenge for green transformation businesses is technology; there are currently many very good solutions and ideas related to green transformation, which are environmentally friendly, but they are very difficult to commercialize.
According to Ms. Dien, there needs to be more cross-industry cooperation in the green supply chain to help green solutions and ideas be brought to market soon.
Mr. Le Viet Dong Hieu - Head of Sustainable Development Department of Duytan Recycling, said that the unit is currently facing challenges with the waste collection system. Only when this "problem" is solved can the cost of treatment and loss in the production process be reduced. Another challenge is the lack of standards for packaging and recycled plastic for food.
The "Green Transformation Forum and Recycling Day 2025" will take place on July 31 at Thong Nhat Hall (HCMC), gathering nearly 500 delegates from central ministries, local authorities, businesses, international organizations, universities and the innovative startup community for the environment.
In addition to the seminar program, thematic discussions, recycled fashion shows, etc., the forum also has an exhibition space displaying hundreds of products from businesses, start-up groups, students and artisans that have been selected and arranged, showing the practicality of green initiatives. Among them, there are many products with a strong spirit of innovation, from 3D printers using recycled plastic and real printed products, shopping bags made from fishing nets, to trash cleaning robots and smart trash barriers.
Ms. Vu Kim Hanh, Chairwoman of the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Enterprises, said that green transformation is no longer a theory, but a vital action. "Green Transformation Forum and Recycling Day 2025" is not only a place to present policies or technologies but also a meeting place for those who are taking action for a sustainable future. From the forum, circular models, recycled products, and green solutions will not only remain on paper, but will enter daily life. Each individual and each business can contribute to the journey of greening Vietnam.
