Stroke Scientific Conference

On the morning of September 20, 2025, Ca Mau General Hospital organized a Scientific Conference on Stroke with the participation of many leading experts in the field of neurology - stroke from Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City. Attending the Conference were Dr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Director of the Department of Health; Dr. Nguyen Van Muoi, Head of the Department of Health Insurance, Provincial Social Insurance; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huy Thang, Head of the Department of Cerebrovascular Diseases, People's Hospital 115, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Stroke Association, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Stroke Association; Dr. Tran Chi Cuong, Director of SIS Can Tho International General Hospital; Dr. To Minh Nghi, Director of Ca Mau General Hospital, Doctor CKII Truong Thi Yen Linh, Deputy Director of Ca Mau General Hospital, along with representatives of medical facilities in the province.

Opening speech, Dr. To Minh Nghi, Director of Ca Mau General Hospital, emphasized, “The hospital is proud that the hospital's Neurology Department has been awarded a Platinum certificate by Angels, recognizing its efforts in diagnosing, treating and caring for stroke patients according to international standards. In 2021, the hospital's neurology department performed 229 stroke interventions, including 41 thrombectomy and 98 thrombolysis treatments. In the first 8 months of 2022 alone, this number increased to 262 cases, an increase of 20%. This demonstrates the professional progress and trust of patients and colleagues in Ca Mau General Hospital. This success is a joint effort of the entire team of doctors and medical staff. The hospital also has a stroke network in Ca Mau, helping to optimize the time from patient admission to intervention, thereby minimizing treatment time. Ca Mau General Hospital hopes that the Experts and colleagues came to exchange, learn, and contribute to the development of stroke in the Mekong Delta and Ca Mau regions.

At the conference, delegates were updated with the latest guidelines in the treatment of acute stroke, the role of DSA; Application of intracranial stents as well as safe referral procedures for patients; Primary and secondary stroke prevention; The role of comprehensive control of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, many typical clinical cases were shared from treatment practices at People's Hospital 115, SIS Can Tho International General Hospital and Ca Mau General Hospital itself.
