Conference to summarize the Program of cooperation in tourism development in the Western Cluster of the Mekong Delta

On November 29, 2024, in Phu Quoc, Kien Giang, the Conference to summarize the Cooperation Program for Tourism Development in the Western Cluster of the Mekong Delta and the emulation and commendation work of the Emulation Cluster of the Departments of Tourism in the Southern region in 2024 took place. Attending the Conference were Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province Le Trung Ho and representatives of leaders and specialized departments of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Tourism of provinces and cities in the Cooperation Program of Emulation Cluster 16 and the Western Cluster of the Mekong Delta.

According to the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province, in 2024, through cooperation and linkage in tourism development, the Western cluster attracted more than 35.8 million visitors, an increase of 10.5% over the same period; of which, international visitors were more than 1.4 million, an increase of more than 50.9% over the same period; total revenue from tourism reached over 51,000 billion VND, an increase of 40.1% over the same period.

To better implement the tourism cooperation program, contributing to the gradual recovery and development of tourism in localities in the coming time. Mr. Le Trung Ho - Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee hopes that through this conference, he will receive many comments from delegates to effectively exploit destinations, build typical tourism products for each locality, and form common tourism routes for joint exploitation and sustainable development.
