On November 29, 2024, in Phu Quoc, Kien Giang, the Conference to summarize the Cooperation Program for Tourism Development in the Western Cluster of the Mekong Delta and the emulation and commendation work of the Emulation Cluster of the Departments of Tourism in the Southern region in 2024 took place. Chairing the Conference

According to the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province, in 2024, through cooperation and linkage in tourism development, the Western cluster attracted more than 35.8 million visitors, an increase of 10.5% over the same period; of which, international visitors were more than 1.4 million, an increase of more than 50.9% over the same period; total revenue from tourism reached over 51,000 billion VND, an increase of 40.1% over the same period.

To better implement the tourism cooperation program, contributing to the gradual recovery and development of tourism in localities in the coming time. Mr. Le Trung Ho - Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee hopes that through this conference, he will receive many comments from delegates to effectively exploit destinations, build typical tourism products for each locality, and form common tourism routes for joint exploitation and sustainable development.

At the same time, he requested that localities, businesses and tourism associations continue to promote more strongly and effectively the linkage and cooperation activities between provinces in the Western Cluster of the Mekong Delta region, not only in the field of tourism product development but also in connecting transport infrastructure, trade and tourism promotion, creating a unified "tourism value chain", thereby helping to increase the attractiveness of regional tourism. Strengthening public-private partnership between management agencies and businesses, implementing according to market mechanisms, in the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks"; The cluster and each locality build mechanisms and policies to effectively mobilize resources from businesses, especially large businesses and strategic investors to invest in tourism development./.
