Vietnam Journalists Association with many outstanding activities in the coming time

1. Conference to summarize 17 years of the National Press Awards and summarize the work of supporting high-quality journalism in 2022; Deploy the Program to support high-quality journalism in 2023 and 2024.

The conference aims to summarize and evaluate 17 years of the National Press Awards; summarize and evaluate the results of the activities of the Central Agency of the Association and the Association at all levels in supporting high-quality journalism in 2022; continue to guide the implementation of the High-Quality Journalism Support Program in 2023 and 2024 according to Decision No. 558/QD-TTg dated April 8, 2021 of the Prime Minister.

Through this Conference, evaluate the 17 years of organizing the National Press Awards, evaluate the achievements as well as the limitations, shortcomings and solutions to overcome and improve quality, contributing to enhancing the contribution of the press to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the context of digital transformation; continue to evaluate the implementation results of the "Project to continue supporting creative activities of literary and artistic works and journalism at the Central level and local Literature and Arts Associations, supporting high-quality journalism works at local Journalists Associations in 2022"; clarify the effectiveness of the Project in improving the quality of central and local journalism as well as outstanding issues, draw lessons to continue effectively implementing the "Program to support creative activities of literary and artistic works and journalism at the central level and local Literature and Arts Associations; support high-quality journalism at local Journalists Associations in 2023 and 2024" approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 558/QD-TTg dated April 8, 2021.

2. Conference to review 1 year of the emulation movement to build a cultural environment in press agencies and training on the implementation of the Charter of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Summary of the management of members who are reporters of press agencies residing in localities.

The conference aims to guide the implementation of Decision No. 375/QD-TTg April 12, 2023 of the Prime Minister on the Charter of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Summarize 01 year of the emulation campaign to build a cultural environment in press agencies; continue to implement the emulation campaign to build a cultural environment in press agencies; Summarize the management of members who are reporters of press agencies residing in localities. At the same time, thoroughly grasp the contents, set out tasks for all levels of the association and press agencies to strictly implement the Charter of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Through the summary of a year of the emulation movement to build a cultural environment in press agencies; pointing out the advantages and difficulties in building a cultural press agency and cultural journalists; thereby promoting and spreading the response and active and effective participation in building a cultural environment in press agencies; determined and persistent in implementing the set of cultural criteria in press agencies and the culture of journalists, determined to build a professional, humane and modern press and media; at the same time, assessing the advantages and difficulties in managing members who are reporters of press agencies residing in localities.

3. Press Conference on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the context of digital transformation

The conference aims to continue to effectively implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo, Official Dispatch No. 3480-CV/HVCTQG of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Plan No. 10-KH/BCDTW dated May 12, 2022 of the Central Steering Committee 35, to review 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation".

Continue to affirm the important position and role in social life of the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; enhance awareness and responsibility of local press teams about policies and viewpoints on protecting the Party's ideological foundation; promote training and development of journalists - members participating in the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; actively propagate and effectively implement the documents of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolutions of the 12th Central Conference.

4. Conference to summarize 6 years of implementing the 2016 Press Law in conjunction with 10 regulations on professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, Rules for using social networks of Vietnamese journalists

The conference aims to summarize the implementation of the 2016 Press Law, in conjunction with 10 regulations on professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, and rules for using social networks of Vietnamese journalists for all levels of associations and press agencies. Proposing to legalize press and media activities in accordance with the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, "Building a professional, humane and modern press and media".

The conference will clarify the scientific and practical basis for amending and supplementing the 2016 Press Law, recommending contents and groups of contents with inappropriate regulations that are not in line with the practice of press law, on that basis shaping new viewpoints and visions for the development of Vietnamese press under the leadership of the Party in the context of digital transformation; in addition, continuing to strengthen supervision of compliance with press laws and the implementation of professional ethics regulations of Vietnamese journalists, and rules for using social networks of Vietnamese journalists.

According to the plan, the conferences will be held in all 3 regions: Northern region (held in Hoa Binh province), Central - Central Highlands region (held in Nghe An province), Southern region (held in Tien Giang province), expected time in October and November 2023.
