Kien Giang Provincial Farmers' Association successfully completed its tasks in 2024

Head of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Mai Hoang Khoi (center) awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with achievements in helping farmers access capital for rice cultivation and agricultural production.

Many targets implemented by the Farmers' Association of Kien Giang province achieved and exceeded the 2024 plan such as: Mobilizing support for the construction of 141 warm houses for farmers, reaching 940%; training good farmers in production and business from district level and above reaching 636%; supporting members and farmers to register accounts on e-commerce platforms reaching 335.5%; building effective professional farmers' associations reaching 326.6%...

With the motto of focusing on the grassroots, innovating the way of gathering farmers into the association with many creative ways, the association has developed 21,878 new members, reaching 156.3% of the assigned expenditure, reducing 7,888 members, bringing the total number of members in the province to 203,577; admitted 91 honorary members, launched the Honorary Membership Club of the Vietnam Farmers' Association of Kien Giang province.

Through evaluation, the whole province has 73,371 households achieving the title of good farmers in production and business. The farmers' support fund at all levels has reached 8.8 billion VND. The province has 11 projects borrowing 5.2 billion VND from the central farmers' support fund; 27 projects borrowing more than 9 billion VND from the provincial farmers' support fund.

Provincial Party Committee member, Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial Farmers' Association Do Tran Thinh awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work and farmers' movement in 2024.

The total outstanding debt of policy credit programs from the Social Policy Bank entrusted through the management association reached 1,867.7 billion VND with 50,104 households still in debt; in coordination with Kien Long Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Rach Gia branch, implemented unsecured loans of more than 49 billion VND for more than 600 farming households.

In 2025, the Kien Giang Farmers' Association will continue to implement the 3 breakthroughs of the Resolution of the 10th Congress of the Kien Giang Farmers' Association, focusing on models in the fields of marine economy , organic farming and livestock farming, biosafety, high-tech application, service models, rural eco-tourism, and innovative start-up models.

On this occasion, 2 collectives and 2 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province for their outstanding achievements in helping farmers access capital for rice cultivation and agricultural production; 22 collectives and 11 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Executive Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association for their outstanding achievements in the Association's work and the farmers' movement in 2024.
