The 2024 Cao Bang Provincial Department-level Competition for Excellent Leaders and Managers was a great success.

On April 16, at Hoang Dinh Giong Political School, the Provincial Party Committee organized the second round of the 2024 Competition for Excellent Leaders and Managers at the Department Level in Cao Bang Province. Attending were comrade Trieu Dinh Le, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Competition; comrade Nguyen Thuy Anh, Nguyen Thuy Anh, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee of the Competition; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and organizations of the province and 15 excellent candidates who entered the second round of the competition.

To participate in the second round of the Cao Bang Provincial Department-level Competition for Excellent Leaders and Managers, 15 outstanding candidates surpassed 48 candidates in the general knowledge round. In the second round, the candidates went through 3 stages of the competition, including: a presentation on the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels of individuals corresponding to the planned leadership and management positions; a contest to answer the judges' critical questions and a draw to answer the organizers' situational questions.

According to the judges' assessment, the contestants have a good knowledge base and presentation skills, answer critical questions and situational questions quite closely; argue, cite evidence, and solve problems convincingly, demonstrate leadership and management capacity; have acumen, creativity, and flexibility, contributing to the implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress and the key and breakthrough tasks of the Party Committees at all levels in the 2020-2025 term. With careful and thorough preparation and convincing presentations, the contest received enthusiastic support from a large number of cadres and party members.

In his closing speech, Comrade Trieu Dinh Le, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council congratulated and commended the contestants for upholding their sense of responsibility and efforts throughout the preparation process and directly participating in the contest. Appreciating the attention and facilitation of the district and city Party Committees, departments, branches, and mass organizations of the province, he emphasized: Cadres and cadre work have a particularly important position and role, and are decisive to the success or failure of the revolution. President Ho Chi Minh affirmed that "Cadres are the root of all work", "The success or failure of work depends on good or bad cadres". Clearly recognizing that importance, in recent years, the Provincial Party Committee has issued many resolutions, key programs, and important projects on building a contingent of cadres suitable for each stage. The contest is one of the activities to concretize resolutions and programs, contributing to bringing the Party's resolutions into practice.

Comrade Trieu Dinh Le, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, affirmed: Although it was the first time the contest was held, it has truly become a useful forum, creating an environment and motivation for cadres to continue to strive, practice, and improve themselves; improve political mettle, professional qualifications, working skills, and accumulate experience; actively contribute their efforts and intelligence to the development of the province. Through the contest, it shows the qualifications, capacity, methods, and working style of the team of leaders and managers at the department level, thereby aiming to objectively and comprehensively evaluate and discover cadres with capacity, qualities, and prospects to serve the work of planning, training, fostering, promoting, appointing, and recommending candidates for leadership and management positions at the district and department levels in the next period.

From the success of the contest, in order to spread more strongly and promote the results of the contest better in the coming time, he suggested that the Standing Committees of the district and city Party Committees, leaders of departments, branches, sectors, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in the province continue to pay attention to and carry out well the training and fostering of leaders and managers at all levels within the sector and locality; pay attention to training and arranging leaders and managers at the department level to participate in the contest to take on suitable positions, creating conditions for them to maximize their capacity and intelligence, continue to improve and develop themselves comprehensively; be ready to step into leadership and management positions at the department, sector, mass organization and district levels with steadfastness and courage.

As a result of the contest, the organizing committee awarded the first prize to contestant Nguyen Thi Huong Nhung, Head of the Department of Science and Education - Culture and Society, Office of the Provincial People's Committee; awarded 2 second prizes to contestant Nong Hong Dai, Head of the Department of Internal Political Protection, Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee and contestant Tran Luong Nguyet, Head of the Department of Administrative Reform and Organization, Department of Home Affairs; awarded 4 third prizes and 8 consolation prizes to outstanding contestants. The organizing committee also awarded 3 secondary prizes and souvenirs to 48 contestants participating in the contest.
