Journalists' Singing Contest 2022 Echoes of Traditional Music

(NLDO) - Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association participated in the 2022 Journalists' Singing Contest with 7 performances from 5 press agencies.

In order to create opportunities for journalists who love the traditional art of Cai Luong to exchange, learn and develop their strengths, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Voice of Ho Chi Minh City (VOH) jointly organized the Journalists' Singing Contest with the theme "Echoes of Ancient Songs".

The Southeast Regional Semi-Finals of the competition took place on November 21 at VOH. Three performances were selected for the final ranking round, including the performance of contestant Tran Thi Cam Thuy of the Binh Duong Journalists Association with the song "Hai Tran Tuyen" by author A Ly Phuong Tuyen; the performance "La Trau Xanh" (late composer Vien Chau) performed by contestant Nguyen Thi Cuc of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Journalists Association and the performance "Thuong Em Nhieu Qua La Thu Xanh" (Ngo Hong Khanh) performed by contestant Nguyen Thanh Binh of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Journalists Association.

Along with 6 performances selected from the semi-finals of the North Hau River and South Hau River regions, the contestants will continue to enter the final ranking round taking place at 8:00 p.m. on November 25, 2022 at Cao Van Lau Theater, Bac Lieu City, Bac Lieu Province.

In particular, in the final ranking night, the jury including Meritorious Artist Huynh Khai, Meritorious Artist Thanh Hang, and Meritorious Artist Dao Vu Thanh will perform the traditional song "Journalism in the Integration Era" composed by composer Lam Huu Tang.

In the semi-finals of 3 regions: North Hau River, South Hau River and Southeast, there were 31 performances from 14/20 Journalists Associations of localities in the Eastern and Southwest regions participating.

Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association is the local association that participates the most with 7 programs from 5 press agencies including: Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), Tuoi Tre newspaper, Phu Nu TP newspaper, VOH, and Ho Chi Minh City Police Special Topic (CAND newspaper).
